EastEnders’ Jasmine Fisher unleashes shocking lie as Max Branning rumbles her in BBC iPlayer release

Max Branning was already facing a tough time in EastEnders, but things have taken a turn for the worse with a manipulative lie from Jasmine Fisher.

Desperate to escape before her family learned she’d killed her father, Anthony Trueman, on Christmas Day, Jasmine tried to persuade her boyfriend, Oscar Branning, to run away with her.

This happened after a visit with Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), who is in prison for a murder she didn’t commit. She took the blame for Anthony’s death, even though she was unconscious at the time it happened.

Jasmine believed the only way her mother could be released from custody was to tell the police about her connection with Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman). Her grandmother, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), was convinced Chrissie was to blame.

Reporting Chrissie would definitely reveal the actual truth, and she wasn’t willing to risk that happening.

Oscar supported her decision to leave, but he mistakenly believed they were only going to Thailand for a short time and would eventually come back to their family in Walford.

Jasmine said they needed to book flights and a place to stay soon, as she didn’t want to wait more than a month. Oscar agreed, wanting to prove he was serious about going.

Later in the episode, Cindy Beale cautioned Max about Jasmine’s potentially troubling nature, prompting him to investigate. He then overheard Jasmine pleading with her adoptive mother for money to run away.

After her idea was rejected, Max suddenly appeared and revealed he’d been listening the whole time. He threatened to share what he’d heard with Oscar.

It was awful! Jasmine suddenly got really upset with Max and started yelling at him. When he tried to defend himself, she started screaming and pushed him away, then falsely told Kat and Oscar that he’d made a move on her. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing – it was a complete overreaction and a total lie!

Will anyone believe her story? Considering Max has a history of being unfaithful, people will probably side with her…
