Zoe Slater’s comeback to Albert Square has been quite tumultuous, with many uncertainties surrounding her. Following the revelation that flashbacks to her past life in Walford involved Max Branning, there is a cloud of mystery over her.

In the recalled scenes, it’s revealed that Max unexpectedly crossed paths with Zoe. He inquired about her relationship with Kat and Stacey after his card was refused. As they grew closer, it became clear that they had spent a night together. While lying in bed, Zoe confessed she was on a quest to locate her long-lost son, whom she had given up for adoption years earlier.

Following her successful search for her son, who was staying with his foster family, Zoe asked Greg, their neighbor for further details. However, instead of providing additional information, Greg suggested bartering more information in exchange for sexual favors. When Zoe declined, he attempted to sexually assault her. In self-defense, she struck him first with a lamp and then again.

Following Max being informed about the situation, he declined to act as Zoe’s escape chauffeur. Consequently, Zoe left in a rage, and she angrily labeled him as a “coward” or “shirker”.

Currently, Max phoned Zoe to check if she had returned to Walford. However, instead of welcoming his call, she cautioned him against coming back to Albert Square and hinted she would take drastic action if he did. To this, Max countered: “You know what they say about me, Zoe, I don’t like being bossed around.

Fans may be excited to learn that Max is set to return to Walford, bringing along a trail of turbulence. However, one might wonder if a romantic reunion between Max and Zoe could be possible in the future.

During a photo session with TopMob magazine, Ryan was inquired about potential sparks with her ex. In response, she playfully hinted, “As for Zoe, it seems anything goes.

“So I think there’s a chance, but there’s also a chance with other men.”
