EastEnders resolves Alfie Moon cliffhanger in BBC iPlayer release – but key character is still missing

Thinking erroneously that Kat was aware he’d been seeking her daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan), Alfie accidentally sent her a message expressing his regret.

In a short while, Alfie arrived back from Spain, carrying a big souvenir donkey – quite unexpectedly finding Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) wearing a facemask and robe in his newly rented apartment.

Kat had neglected to inform Alfie about her and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) purchasing The Queen Vic while he was away, and when he eventually discovered them, he was left speechless in surprise.

Alfie discovered that the funds from James Bye’s (Martin Fowler’s) life insurance had been spent here, upon finding out that Stacey was urged to utilize it for saving Zoe from harmful individuals in a critical situation.

Simultaneously, it was discovered that Alfie was aiding his little girl Cherry. Interestingly, Cherry’s mother was none other than Hayley Slater, played by Katie Jarvis.

In a scene where Kat was squirting sparkling liquid onto an unwitting Alfie, Alfie felt that their third attempt at marriage might have already been prematurely ruined.

But Kat insisted that if Alfie had been honest about Cherry, she would have understood.

In this scenario, I’d say: I was asked to halt the falsehoods, and I agreed, but when I was brought back to the truth of a drunken voicemail I’d left for Kat, Stacey instructed me to remove it.

However, Kat stepped outside to hear it, but suddenly a man zooming by on a scooter snatched it right out of her hands!

As Alfie and Stacey appeared relieved, and with a jubilant tone, Alfie spoke about his return to his familiar spot behind the bar.

But as Stacey declared the whole mess “over”, where exactly is Zoe?

In a new development, Kat’s phone was found among a group of stolen items, which gangster Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) handed over to Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) for safekeeping in Kojo Asare’s (Dayo Koleosho) apartment.

Will the truth be uncovered?
