EastEnders fans now know if Vicki Fowler (played by Alice Haig) lives after being attacked by her stepson, Joel Marshall (Max Murray).

Last week, after a fight about their teenager’s sexist beliefs, Joel physically attacked Vicki, leaving her seriously injured at their home.

After nearly hitting Joel because of his actions, Joel’s father, Ross, didn’t realize what had caused his outburst and ended up apologizing to his son in the town square.

While people were still talking about what Joel had done at school, a badly injured Vicki stumbled into The Queen Vic and then passed out.

Joel lied and told Vicki he’d only given her a slight bump. He then asked Tommy Moon to hide him, and though Tommy felt uneasy about it, he ended up concealing Joel in the Slaters’ garage.

Zack Hudson and Sharon Watts went to the hospital to see Ross, but before they arrived, Ross firmly told everyone around that Joel was not capable of harming Vicki.

Tommy’s half-sister, Zoe Slater, figured out his plan and encouraged him to take action if Joel had hurt Vicki and caused her to be hospitalized.

Zoe admitted that the Slater women could be overwhelming for the men in their family, but she pointed out that their strong personalities were a direct result of the men around them, like Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns).

After explaining how Trevor mistreated their aunt, Zoe mentioned that Kat Moon, Tommy’s mother, had also experienced abuse from men. However, when Tommy asked for details, Zoe didn’t share that information.

Zoe finished by saying, ‘Because you were raised with such strength, I’m confident you’ll make the right decision.’

Seeing the ambulance and police, Tommy realized Vicki’s situation was much more serious than Joel had let on. He challenged Joel, but his friend stubbornly refused to take responsibility.

At the hospital, doctors confirmed that Vicki was going to be okay.

Detectives questioned Ross, and he said he’d scraped his knuckles by punching a wall.

As Ross drove home, he looked at Joel’s laptop and was horrified to discover a video of Joel kicking Vicki while she was on the ground.

Ross inquired about Joel’s whereabouts at the pub, and shortly after, the police raided the garage and took a defiant Joel into custody.

As Joel pleaded for his dad, Ross and Tommy watched as he was taken away.

Is Joel finally about to face justice?
