EastEnders Shock: Queen Vic Faces Closure After Elaine’s Disastrous Party Fiasco

heads up: Today’s BBC iPlayer episode of EastEnders (June 25, 2025) reveals some significant plot twists that you might prefer to discover on your own first.

In the soap opera EastEnders, the fate of The Queen Victoria pub hangs in the balance due to the imprudent actions of character Elaine Knight, played by Harriet Thorpe.

Since her contentious separation with her husband, George (Colin Salmon), Elaine seems to have been less attentive to her responsibilities as a co-landlady.

Lindy Carter’s daughter, Linda (played by Kellie Bright), has found it tough managing things alone, yet Elaine asserted she was in good shape again, organizing a party to celebrate Patrick Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker) birthday.

Encouraging Linda to have a day off, Elaine got quite enthusiastic about her arrangements, to the point of adding an additional cost to the family for her services.

The Fox-Trueman family found Elaine’s extravagant actions disappointing, yet fortunately, Patrick took pleasure in them himself, which ultimately led everyone to embrace the event’s festive mood.

Sadly, Elaine became upset upon George joining the festivities since he was a friend of the birthday boy. In turn, she took over Patrick’s speech to express her frustration about her separated partner.

While Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) supervised the younger children as he entertained his friends at home, an unsettling event unfolded with the unexpected arrival of Joel Marshall (Max Murray).

As a passionate cinephile, I found myself drawn to Joel’s suggestion of adding some excitement to Patrick’s gathering. So, my partner in crime, Denzel, and I boldly approached Elaine, asking for a drink apiece.

In a more conversational style, the sentence could be rephrased as follows: Elaine eventually gave in after Denzel claimed that Mr. Howie (Delroy Atkinson) had given his approval for this. Then, while Elaine wasn’t looking, the group of teens made off with two pitchers and returned to their house.

Denise Fox’s son, Raymond Calixte, along with Kat Moon’s twin sons, Bert and Ernie Briffett, consumed the punch, causing them to fall ill, leading to a state of worry and anxiety.

Initially, Denzel preferred handling the issue independently, but Joel departed to find Denise, who was alarmed. Upon receiving this news, Denise hurriedly returned to examine what had happened with Raymond.

In the midst of all the uproar, Linda came back, and she was furious about her mother’s initial choice to offer alcohol to the kids.

In a less direct manner, we could say that Elaine didn’t fully accept accountability, but matters took a turn for the worse when the authorities showed up to look into the matter.

Will The Vic be put out of action?
