Ross Boatman shared that his character, Harvey Monroe, won’t feature frequently on EastEnders for several weeks due to him taking some time off for a knee replacement operation.
During an interview with Matthew Rolland on his YouTube series Isolation Interviews, the boatman shared that he took a break for about two months while recuperating following his surgery, before resuming filming again.
He mentioned that he wouldn’t appear in the series for a while, hinting that viewers would have to be patient as they wouldn’t get to witness any interactions between Harvey and Kathy Cotton (played by Gillian Taylforth) for some time.
He shared that due to taking a two-month break, he hasn’t had the opportunity to practice shooting with Gilly yet.
Because I recently underwent knee replacement surgery, I’ve been unable to travel. However, since she is currently on holiday, there might be some projects for us to work on together in the near future. If everything goes as planned, these projects could potentially be released towards the end of this year. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Regarding further developments for Harvey, since Boatman resumed filming, he has subtly suggested there will be additional scenes featuring Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw). He also hinted at a shift in Harvey’s character compared to his days with the Slater family.
Since the introduction of Boatman to the soap’s cast in 2021, taxi driver Harvey has been a familiar figure in Albert Square. Before it was revealed that he was involved in an affair with Kathy, Harvey had previously been engaged to Jean Slater (played by Gillian Wright).
The boatman expressed regret at departing from the Slaters, stating: “It made me feel quite sad since these tales aren’t something you can manage yourself.
