Elaine Hendrix & Lisa Ann Walter Detail Reunion With Lindsay Lohan

This was a brilliant, beyond brilliant reunion.

In the movie “The Parent Trap” from 1998, Lindsay Lohan and Elaine Hendrix portrayed characters with a strained on-screen relationship. However, off-camera, their feelings for each other ran much deeper. In fact, Elaine took part in the latest “Freaky Friday” production, which she found particularly delightful as it was a reunion of sorts.

During the film’s premiere in New York City on July 22, Elaine shared with TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi, “There’s a unique bond between us, but she’s no longer the girl I once knew. She’s grown into someone new. It was like recognizing her, yet realizing she had changed. Reconnecting with her was truly special.

She mentioned, “We also had the chance to remember old times on set, engage in small games, and simply keep each other updated. It was wonderful.

However, as reported by her fellow red-carpet companion and former co-star in “The Parent Trap”, as well as real-life best friend Lisa Ann Walter, it appears that Elaine had overlooked one duty during the production of the upcoming “Freaky Friday” sequel (set to hit theaters on August 8).

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows: “I was expecting to gift something for Lindsay’s little boy, Luai, whom she shares with Bader Shammas. However, I learned tonight that the present never made it to her. I’m at a loss as to where it might be, since it seems to have vanished.

Regardless if they brought a baby gift or not, as soon as the three ladies came together on the movie’s purple carpet, their faces were all beaming with joy.

For the special event, Lindsay graced the premiere in an extended, sparkly pink dress that was reminiscent of bubblegum, adorned with jewels and featuring a heart-shaped neckline. She sported her golden hair in loose waves and complemented her look with a magnificent diamond necklace and earrings that dangled elegantly.

Meanwhile, Lisa donned a glittering black pinstripe suit, while Elaine stepped in, sporting tall stilettos and a gown adorned with silver stars and blossoms.

Lisa put on a stylish black suit with shimmering pinstripes, and Elaine made an entrance in high heels and a dress embellished with silver stars and flowers.

Additionally, Elaine shared the story behind her involvement in the upcoming movie, where she works alongside familiar faces such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray once more.

Nisha Ganatra, who was the director for this project, is someone I’ve known for a long time and have worked with on multiple occasions, as explained by the 54-year-old. In a text message, she asked me if I wanted to join in, and my response was a resounding yes, asking where and when I should be there.

The movie titled “Freaky Friday” will hit theaters on August 8. Until then, continue reading to uncover fascinating behind-the-scenes facts about the original production.

According to Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel, the 2003 movie “Freaky Friday” is the second time this story has been remade. The original film adaptation came out in 1976, and a television version was produced in 1995.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but share this fascinating tale. In my world, Andrew Gunn, the film’s visionary, extended an invitation to none other than the remarkable Jodie Foster, who breathed life into Annabel in the 1976 masterpiece. His dream was for her to embrace the role of the mother figure. However, the captivating Jodie politely declined, expressing concerns that her involvement might divert attention from the project’s essence.

Initially, Annette Bening was chosen to portray the character Tess Coleman, however, she had to withdraw from the project just six days prior to when filming was scheduled to commence.

Following her success as the initial ‘scream queen’ and shining in the film “Halloween”, Jamie Lee Curtis believed her starring roles had come to an end, until director Mark Waters proposed replacing Bening – a proposition that came her way.

In a 2003 interview with The Telegraph, Curtis shared that he was 44 years old, somewhat overweight, had grey hair that he didn’t color, and was happy with his life. He also mentioned that in this line of work, he understood there comes a time when it’s wise to gracefully step away.

After studying the script and conversing with Waters, Curtis decided to embrace the matriarch character by coloring her hair and mastering guitar playing skills, which eventually rejuvenated her career. As she put it, “It demonstrates the power of surrendering and experiencing freedom.

6. Following her standout performance in “The Parent Trap“, Lindsay Lohan stepped away from the spotlight for a while, admitting that she felt disoriented by the sudden stardom that came her way.

She shared with IGN in 2003, “Everything happened suddenly, and ‘The Parent Trap’ was simply fantastic!” she exclaimed. “How can you beat that? I yearned for a normal childhood. I attended high school and took part in two projects on Disney Channel, which were enjoyable, just to maintain the momentum.

But when she came across the script for Freaky Friday, Lohan knew it was “perfect” for her.

7. To land the role of Anna, Lindsay Lohan had to outshine four other actresses in auditions. At first, director John Waters wasn’t impressed with her performance, remarking during a 2005 episode of TopMob’s True Hollywood Story that it was “likely the worst of the five.” However, he also acknowledged, “We also agreed she was a star. She had this incredible turmoil and energy that we believed would be fascinating for the character.

Initially, Kelly Osbourne was chosen to portray Lohan’s friend in the film, but she opted out after her mother, Sharon Osbourne, received a diagnosis of colon cancer, causing her to forgo the movie role.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2013, Osbourne expressed that he had to decide between pursuing a career or spending what might have been the final moments of his mother’s life with her. Faced with this difficult choice, he chose his mother. He said, “Off with you, career, and hello, Mother.” For two full days and nights, Osbourne became his mother’s caregiver.

9. In the film, Lindsay Lohan shared her first on-screen kiss with Chad Michael Murray, portraying the character Jake who was Anna’s love interest. Lohan mentioned in an interview that by the 15th take, she wasn’t feeling too anxious about it!

10. During an interview on Busy Tonight in 2019, Murray disclosed that he had kissed Curtis off-screen as well to help calm Lohan’s nerves before their on-screen kiss. When Curtis invited them into her trailer to break the ice before filming began, Murray recounted that she “just pulled me by the back of my head and kissed me.” His response? “Wow, I just kissed Jamie Lee Curtis! This is awesome!

11. Originally, Tom Selleck was chosen to play Tess’ boyfriend Ryan, but he withdrew from the production following Bening’s departure. Instead, Mark Harmon stepped in and developed a strong bond with Curtis, which led to her appearing as a guest star on Harmon’s successful CBS series, NCIS.

Band member Amir Derakh from Orgy instructed Curtis and Lohan on playing the guitar. Later, Lohan recorded her debut song, titled “Ultimate,” for the soundtrack.

In the final scene, Lindsay Lohan’s mother, Dina Lohan, makes a brief appearance, playing one of the wedding attendees.

14. In the 1976 film, Marc McClure, known for his role as Annabel’s romantic interest, briefly appears, portraying Boris, the delivery person.

15. In an imaginative twist, Harry (Ryan Malgarini) and Grandpa (Harold Gould) discovered their fortune cookies causing a body swap… right before an earthquake struck, hinting at the possibility of a follow-up storyline.

16. There was much talk about a sequel following Curtis’ statement at a 2022 Halloween Ends press event in Mexico City that she would indeed return as Tess. Additionally, she shared some insights on her relationship with Lohan, mentioning that she always verifies it’s not a scam whenever Lohan texts her, just to be sure.

Curtis recounted one memorable scene from the movie, where they were struggling to learn a part of a song while eating French fries in the car. He explained that the song was “Like I Love You” by Justin Timberlake, as they kept playing and rewinding the tape to write down the rap lyrics together.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I am thrilled to share that three months prior to the 20th anniversary of the original film, it’s rumored that Curtis and Lohan will swap bodies once more! TopMob News has confirmed that a sequel to this beloved story is in development. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
