Elden Ring is incredibly popular with modders, and players frequently combine it with elements from other games—one example is a mod that changes the combat to feel like The Witcher 3. However, one mod, called Elden Ring Reforged, is particularly ambitious. It completely redesigned the game, and after several years of development, it’s just received a major update.
The ultimate Elden Ring upgrade
Elden Ring Reforged is a mod created by fans that significantly changes almost every aspect of the game Elden Ring, including how you fight, progress, explore, and create your character. It aims to give players more impactful decisions, improve the experience of building your character and exploring the world, and make the game world feel more satisfying to discover.
The game has been updated with several improvements, including new ways to move like ducking and sliding, the ability to deflect attacks, adjusted character builds, more challenging enemies with improved accuracy, new ways to progress, and a bestiary to learn about creatures.

The mod has received consistent updates, but on November 8th, a major version 2.0 update was released, significantly expanding its content and features.
- Full multiplayer: summoning, invasions, and duels via a custom server.
- A new dungeon called The Serpentine Depths, with unique enemies.
- New weapons, spells (including a “Prince of Death” school), bosses, and minions.
- Reworked world-exploration: thousands of collectibles, updated locations, and some new areas.
- System upgrades: new Runeforging & Curios mechanics, expanded weapon affinities, and more flexible, powerful builds.
- UI & camera improvements, plus difficulty options for different playstyles.
- Better support for Linux players.
Even though many players are currently enjoying the new “Nightreign” content, the “Reforged” mod is significantly expanding “Elden Ring”‘s already massive 100+ hour adventure, essentially revitalizing the game with even more content.
