Emilie Kiser’s Husband Placed Sports Bet Before Son Trigg’s Drowning

More details have come to light surrounding Trigg Kiser’s tragic death.

Almost three months have passed since the tragic accidental drowning of our beloved 3-year-old son, Trigg, in our family pool – a loss that has deeply affected my wife, Emilie Kiser, and me. In the ensuing investigation, reports suggest that I, Brady Kiser, made a $25 sports wager around the time of the incident while I was at home with both Trigg and our 3-month-old son, Theodore.

As per a report from the Chandler Police Department (CPD), when officers reached the family’s residence, a basketball match featuring the Boston Celtics versus the New York Knicks was being broadcasted on the TV.

According to the report, during an interview with authorities, Brady expressed that his focus wasn’t on the game; rather, it was on his newborn child.

The cell phone records, as indicated in the report, revealed a possible bet of $25 made by Brady on basketball player Jayson Tatum from DraftKings, which coincided with the reported drowning incident of his son.

The report continued by pointing out that the toddler was left alone in the backyard for over nine minutes, and spent approximately seven of those minutes in the water. However, Brady’s account doesn’t align with what is visible on the video; he failed to correctly detail one action Trigg took after going outside.

The findings suggest that Brady was unaware of Trigg’s actions and wasn’t observing him. This, combined with certain circumstances, resulted in Trigg drowning. Addressing any of these contributing factors might have prevented this unfortunate incident.

After investigating Trigg’s unfortunate death, authorities have announced that Brady will not face charges concerning the incident.

In simpler terms, the statement on the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office website from July 25 stated that Brady Kiser will not be prosecuted for the tragic drowning death of his son, as there is little chance he would be found guilty in a court of law. Rachel Mitchell, the County Attorney, made this announcement.

Additionally, the lawyer’s office admitted that earlier, the Child Protection Department (CPD) had suggested filing a Class 4 felony charge of child abuse against Brady. However, they explained that subsequent investigation revealed insufficient evidence to substantiate the alleged crime.

As I closely examine the evidence, the surveillance footage outside the residence offers a chilling account of the drowning incident, detailing the sequence of events. To successfully prosecute this case, the state must demonstrate, beyond any shadow of doubt, to a unanimous jury that the accused was oblivious to an egregiously unsafe and unwarranted risk – a negligence far removed from the caution exhibited by a prudent individual under similar circumstances.

Upon examining the evidence presented by the Chandler Police Department, it was found that the case did not satisfy the required standard.
