Emily in Paris future confirmed after Gabriel cliffhanger left show eyeing move to new location

Just three weeks after the latest season of Emily in Paris premiered on Netflix, the show has been renewed for a sixth season! Lily Collins and the rest of the cast will be back.

I just saw the announcement, and it was so clever! It’s a quick video of Collins walking towards the camera, but then it pulls back and you realize the camera is set up behind a croissant! And get this – there’s a number six candle stuck in it. It’s a really cute and creative way to share the news.

I’m so thrilled the show is coming back! Honestly, I can’t wait to see how they resolve all those crazy cliffhangers from the season 5 finale. It’s going to be amazing to finally get some answers!

The latest episode of the show ended with Emily ending her relationship with Marcello, and then receiving a postcard from Gabriel inviting her to Greece. It’s currently unclear if she’ll accept his invitation or if the next season will take place in Greece.

In an interview with Deadline, Collins explained that Season 5 focuses less on Emily’s personal life and more on her work. Unlike previous seasons, Emily is doing well and is now primarily focused on the challenges and contributions of her colleague, Princess Jane.

She navigated the situation with Gabriel and Marcello really well. It seems Gabriel is starting to question things, which is good to see.

The season also left viewers wondering about Mindy’s future – she accepted a proposal from Nico, even though she still has feelings for Alfie. Plus, the fate of Agence Grateau remains uncertain due to ongoing money problems.

Since its release in 2020, Emily in Paris has become a major hit, and its creator, Darren Star, recently received France’s highest honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, from President Emmanuel Macron.

It was really touching to hear Macron speak at the event. He directly addressed Darren, acknowledging how much this success meant to him, especially since Darren clearly poured his heart into the series as a real tribute to France. It felt like a genuine connection and appreciation for Darren’s passion.

Your portrayal of France encourages millions to visit and keeps them coming back. For those of us who live here, Emily in Paris lets us rediscover the beauty of our country. Thank you for that.
