A DeLorean appearing in the peaceful Yorkshire village of Emmerdale was always going to attract trouble, and sure enough, someone quickly stole it.
Joe Tate, a wealthy resident, spent some time with his step-son, Evan, earlier this week watching one of his favorite movies: the 1985 sci-fi classic Back to the Future, which stars Michael J. Fox.
The men relaxed on the sofa to watch ‘Back to the Future,’ and Joe’s fiancée, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley), smiled seeing him seem more settled and family-oriented.

After being inspired by the movie Back to the Future, he decided to buy a DeLorean. In today’s episode, Joe was driving along the back roads of Yorkshire when he caught the eye of Kammy Hadiq (played by Shebz Miah) and Vinny Dingle (played by Bradley Johnson).
They were delighted to see it parked outside David’s Shop and playfully asked if they could test drive it.
Of course, the answer was no.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and his granddaughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), were watching everything unfold. Just a few days earlier, Sarah had jokingly suggested that Cain use his old skills – stealing cars – to help Butler’s Farm with its financial troubles.
Cain had been strongly opposed to the idea, but seeing a classic, eye-catching car from the 80s apparently made him reconsider.
Later that day, they sat with their car, hoping someone would buy it. They anticipated Joe would soon show up to accuse them, and he didn’t keep them waiting long.

When Joe arrived at Butler’s, the DeLorean was hidden in a barn, and Cain pretended he didn’t know anything about it. Joe immediately knew Cain was lying, and Cain seemed to enjoy leading him on.
He offered to open the barn doors and show if the car was there for two hundred pounds. Joe considered the offer, but ultimately decided to wait and see what happened instead of paying right away.
That way, he’d have more leverage over Cain during his plight for the other 50% of his homestead.
Should Cain be worried?
