Emmerdale airs desperate Charity Dingle scenes as she gains new ally in early ITVX release

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is feeling the heat in Emmerdale as she desperately tries to come up with £100,000. Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is blackmailing her for that amount.

Earlier this year, Charity discovered she was pregnant, and the father was revealed to be Ross Barton. This happened while she was helping her granddaughter Sarah and her husband Jacob by acting as a surrogate for them.

At first, she simply wanted Charity to convince Jacob to drop his HR complaint against her in return for her keeping quiet.

Things got worse when Todd kept mistreating and bullying Jacob, so Jacob felt he needed to say something.

Todd demanded Charity give him £10,000. When she only had a few thousand, he increased the amount, making her situation even worse.

Charity felt forced to consider selling her part of The Woolpack pub and first approached Ruby Miligan with the idea. Her husband, Caleb, noticed she was hiding something, but Charity refused to tell him what was going on.

Time was running out, and Kim Tate, the wealthy owner of the local estate (played by Claire King), seemed like the only potential buyer. She expressed interest, but cautioned that it might take a few weeks to get the money transferred.

Today on the show, Graham Foster started to make Vanessa suspicious. He told her that Charity’s son, Ryan, still co-owned the business, meaning Vanessa wouldn’t have complete control.

Kim went to see Charity at the pub to let her know she’d changed her mind about the purchase. Kim was worried about how quickly Charity needed the money and didn’t want to get involved in whatever was going on.

Charity was increasingly frantic, begging for the money she needed. She even approached Kim, offering to pay her back, but Kim refused. Unbeknownst to them, Chas Dingle was listening from the next room.

She reluctantly admitted that Todd knew her big secret, and was now blackmailing her.

Chas refused to let her cousin be threatened, and insisted they needed a plan to get Todd out of town. Charity argued that was too dangerous and they should concentrate on getting the money instead.

Her plan is to sneak into Home Farm and raid the safe…

Will it work?
