Emmerdale airs devastating Bear Wolf twist after secure mental health unit update in early ITVX release

Paddy Dingle, played by Dominic Brunt, was deeply upset after a visit with his father, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), who is receiving care in a mental health facility.

Earlier this year, Bear, a former slave of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom), broke free and later killed him. Paddy and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) witnessed the attack and then helped to hide the body in Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) van.

After weeks of secrecy, Bear finally broke down and admitted everything to his therapist. He immediately followed up by calling the police.

Paddy has always wanted to buy his dad a phone charger, but it’s starting to seem like it won’t happen.

He violated his bail conditions almost immediately after his release by breaking a mirror and going to the hospital. Because the emergency room was busy, he couldn’t be seen right away and became aggressive towards Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).

Haunted by what he’d done, he went out into the night and was eventually discovered near where he’d buried Anya, another of his victims.

Paddy quickly located him and offered to cover the costs of a stay at a mental health facility to help him get better. Detective Sergeant Walsh (Amanda Ryan) stated he wouldn’t be immediately rearrested for violating his bail conditions, based on a psychologist’s assessment. However, she cautioned that his hospital stay would only postpone his eventual arrest.

Paddy went to see Bear today, and he seemed much more cheerful. It’s clear Bear is getting better.

He shared that therapy helped him understand just how badly Ray had hurt him, and he was feeling better with each passing day. While Paddy was happy to hear this, he also pointed out that publicly acknowledging this meant the Crown Prosecution Service wouldn’t likely drop the case.

Paddy was upset to hear Bear announce he’d already informed his doctors and lawyer that he was leaving the hospital later that day.

Bear went home later that day, but DS Walsh quickly learned about it. She had spoken with the hospital and arranged for Bear to be brought to the police station for further questioning about potentially violating the terms of his bail.

Will Bear spend the rest of his days in a cell?
