Emmerdale airs John Sugden blackmail threat in ITVX release – will he escape?

Aaron Dingle recently woke up after being in a coma caused by his husband, John, and revealed all of John’s wrongdoings.

After being wrongly accused and sent to prison, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) returned to the village hoping to reconnect with Aaron, despite being initially turned away.

John was still a fugitive, and in the ongoing storyline, he secretly enters Keeper’s home. There, he’s shown holding a filled syringe and standing menacingly over a picture of Robert.

John feels conflicted when he overhears a personal conversation between Robert and Victoria, where Victoria questions whether John ever truly cared for her.

John quickly confronts Caleb Miligan at the train station, and unexpectedly gains the upper hand by revealing he’s the only one who knows the location of Anthony Fox’s burial site.

Caleb is worried about his wife, Ruby, and is facing a difficult choice: will he help John escape the country to avoid a blackmail threat?

At the hospital, Aaron receives a visit from Mackenzie Boyd, who is recovering after being rescued from weeks underground. They talk about the surprising things John has done.

Mack remains optimistic despite Aaron’s difficulty dealing with all the warning signs they ignored. But will they both be able to move past the trouble John caused?

Cain Dingle is lashing out at Aaron because of Nate’s death, and Liam is struggling with the consequences of his father, John, working at the doctor’s office. It remains to be seen if John will be held accountable for his actions.
