In Emmerdale, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was arrested for a crime she didn’t commit. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) secretly planted fake passports belonging to exploited workers in her home, leading to her arrest.
Okay, so as a big fan of the show, it was seriously creepy discovering that Celia Daniels – Jaye Griffiths played her, and she was fantastic at being awful – was holding people hostage right under everyone’s noses. She had them locked away in the attic of her farmhouse, which, conveniently, was right next door to Moira’s farm, Butler’s Farm. It just added to the tension, knowing they were so close but completely isolated!
The workers, including Bear Wolf (Paddy Dingle’s father), were made to live in poor conditions and work long shifts, and they were frequently mistreated by Ray Walters, Celia’s son.
Moira, unaware of what was happening, started a business with Celia, but it quickly fell apart. She discovered Celia had falsely signed her name on papers to purchase a large number of turkeys, and now Moira is facing the consequences.

In addition to the agreements between the women, police discovered the identification documents Robert had hidden on his bookshelf. He was coerced into this by Joe Tate, who is blackmailing Robert’s sister, Vic, to get her share of the Butler’s business.
If his siblings refused to cooperate, he threatened to reveal a video showing her murdering their brother, John (Oliver Farnworth), in the woods.

Moira was completely stunned when the police took her into custody. She insisted she had nothing to do with Celia and Ray’s shady scheme, but the officer clearly didn’t trust her explanation.
She believed Moira was doing better financially thanks to Celia’s income, especially considering the difficulties farmers were facing and the recent manure spill on Moira’s property.

News of Moira’s arrest quickly spread to Home Farm. Robert warned Joe that if Moira went to prison, he would ruin Joe’s life, and he clearly relished making the threat.
Will Moira ever be able to prove her innocence?
