As a long-time Emmerdale enthusiast who has weathered numerous twists and turns in the village, I can confidently say that the latest plot development left me utterly spellbound! In the recent online version of the ITV soap opera, Emmerdale, there’s been an unexpected turn of events as a beloved character makes their comeback.

While Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) readied himself for another clandestine boxing bout, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) warned Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) that the match was likely fixed, and Billy had good reason to be worried.

Mack initially disregarded Aaron’s concerns, yet later made an effort to convince Billy to withdraw from the game, as he grew apprehensive that Aaron might be correct.

Billy firmly maintained that the money was essential for their hard-pressed household, even though Dawn, his wife (played by Olivia Bromley), remained unaware about where Billy initially obtained the funds.

I inquired from promoter Jade (Twinnie Lee Moore) about my upcoming opponent, and she evaded my question since it seemed like she was trying to dodge the situation, possibly because of a past injury.

However, when Jade cautioned that serious repercussions would ensue if Billy failed to comply, it sent a chill down Mack’s spine to see Billy climb into the car with Jade, proceeding towards the destination.

Concerned about his friend, Mack implored Aaron for assistance, and together they hurried towards the warehouse as Billy prepared to engage in a battle.

There was a roaring crowd waiting to watch, as Jade told Billy this was to be a bare knuckle fight, and a knockout match! She also claimed that his opponent was a “beast”.

Just before the contest, Mack managed to boost Billy’s spirits a bit, but then his focus shifted when he spotted his rival – none other than Ross Barton, portrayed by Michael Parr.

Previously, it was confirmed that Ross will return to Emmerdale, though the details surrounding his return have been kept secret.

Apart from engaging in any illicit activities related to boxing, it seems Ross has been keeping himself busy with other ventures. We’ll find out more about these activities in the days ahead.

Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
