Emmerdale and EastEnders in schedule shake-ups tonight amid key sporting events

Soap fans, beware: sports coverage has once again ruined your evening routine.

There’s nothing that frustrates TV viewers more. Popular soap operas are often interrupted or moved to accommodate sporting events like football, tennis, or rugby, and the constant schedule changes can be really annoying.

Tonight is no exception, as both Emmerdale and EastEnders have scheduling changes.

I was surprised to hear that Emmerdale is shifting to 7:00pm! It seems ITV News will be a bit shorter to allow for full coverage of the Carabao Cup. They’re dedicating the whole evening to the Wrexham versus Cardiff City match on ITV1, and it won’t wrap up until quite late – around 10:20pm, apparently.

Viewers can anticipate emotional scenes as Aaron Dingle reveals to Robert Sugden that Kev Townsend has been threatening him.

So, things are really heating up! Dylan Penders, played by Fred Kettle, is plotting a way to break out, and he’s even stolen money from that awful Ray Walters – Joe Absolom really nails the villain role, by the way. He’s hoping April Windsor, Amelia Flanagan, will ditch everything and run off with him. It’s a pretty risky plan, and I’m on the edge of my seat to see if it works!

Most of the UK can watch EastEnders on BBC One as usual, but viewers in Wales will have a slightly different experience.

Due to the Wales versus Poland football match on Match of the Day, tonight’s episode of the Albert Square drama will air on BBC Two Wales at its regular time of 7:30pm.

Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is feeling lost after a big fight between Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig). She realizes her recent actions are causing fewer customers to visit The Queen Vic.

Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) is investigating his new girlfriend, Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness), and he has help with his search.

I have to say, Elaine Peacock, played brilliantly by Harriet Thorpe, isn’t buying what this character is selling either. She quickly teams up with our protagonist, and together they start digging to uncover the truth about who this person actually is. It’s a fun dynamic, and I’m eager to see what they uncover!

Suki and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal and Heather Peace) have a dinner with an adoptive couple, but the evening is disrupted by interruptions from their family.
