Emmerdale boss teases answers for Graham Foster’s full-time return – and who may never forgive him

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw has promised fans will soon learn how Graham Foster mysteriously reappeared.

The popular ITV soap opera featured a surprising return for a character previously believed to be dead. He first appeared in 2017 as a tough associate and father figure to businessman Tom Waterhouse, who was later unmasked as the manipulative Joe Tate (played by Ned Porteous).

Monday’s episode of Corriedale featured a hooded person watching a terrible car crash. Meanwhile, they were holding a woman named Jodie captive and gagged in their van.

The individual was then spotted standing near Joe, who was unconscious, before going back to the van and discovering Jodie had gotten away.

It turned out the person was Graham, and he was keeping watch over Joe while he was being treated at Hotten General Hospital.

Graham canceled a work commitment, leaving us wondering what happened. More importantly, will he be returning to work permanently?

Fans of the show will be thrilled to hear that Graham Foster is returning as a regular character! Series producer Laura Shaw announced his sensational return to the village.

Naturally, Graham’s unexpected return will affect some characters more than others. He was presumed dead – murdered in January 2020 by the villainous Pierce Harris, the ex-husband of his girlfriend Rhona Goskirk – in a dramatic storyline.

Shaw hinted that his comeback will cause big problems for Kim and Rhona. Kim has a complicated relationship with him, full of both love and animosity, and Rhona was just about to leave with him.

I know a lot of us, both fans and those who cared about Graham within the show, are going to be wondering how he’s still alive. It really seemed like he died – we actually saw him dead, so it’s a huge mystery!

I’m hearing from sources that Graham is finally going to set the record straight about what really happened six years ago – the event everyone thought resulted in his death. But the big question isn’t just the reveal itself, it’s whether Joe can ever truly forgive Graham. After all, Graham let Joe believe he was gone for years, and that’s a tough thing to overcome, even with a full explanation.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX from 7am.
