The Sugden-Dingle family has been facing a lot of difficulties lately, ever since John Sugden (Oliver Farnsworth) arrived and started causing serious problems, even leading to violence.
The main focus of the storyline is Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), who’s been shocked by John’s actions, and things are set to get even more complicated.
Victoria will be leaving Emmerdale temporarily when the actress who plays her goes on maternity leave. She’s hinted that there are some exciting and dramatic events still to come in her storyline.
I was chatting with Hodgins at the Cure Usher Ball, and she let slip that Victoria’s exit from the village is still a mystery! She said the writers are still figuring things out, and it’s going to be a surprise for everyone. Honestly, I’m on the edge of my seat to find out what happens!
Though plenty more drama lies ahead, and Victoria is once again in the middle of it.

I’m really hooked on Emmerdale right now! Next week, things get interesting with Robert. He’s totally shocked when this guy, Kev, shows up – it turns out they knew each other from Robert’s time in prison. But the real drama happens when Victoria comes home and sees Robert holding hands with someone who *isn’t* Aaron. She’s so confused, and honestly, so am I! I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Once Robert gets rid of Kev, he braces himself for a grilling from his sister.
Hodgins described the new development as a fantastic addition to the story and praised the new character, saying he’s had a lot of fun working with them. He also hinted that viewers are in for some exciting surprises!
It’s currently unclear if John will be involved in the upcoming storyline. He’s left the village following a dramatic confrontation with Cain Dingle.

Caleb Miligan, threatened with exposure regarding Anthony, reluctantly aided John’s escape. However, instead of helping John leave the country, Caleb stopped in the woods, confronted him with a shotgun, and revealed that Cain was present, seeking vengeance for John’s murder of his son, Nate.
Honestly, as Caleb got more and more scared of John threatening to expose him, he felt trapped and had to go along with John’s scheme. It all ended with John just leaving me at a gas station in Rotterdam, which was… less than ideal.
We don’t know for sure if audiences have seen the last of John, meaning more problems could still arise.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1. Stream on ITVX.
