Caution: Today’s (September 11, 2025) episode of Emmerdale may reveal plot details, and it is now accessible on ITVX.
In the September 11, 2025 edition of Emmerdale, character John Sugden, portrayed by Oliver Farnworth, takes an alarming step that leaves viewers on edge.
After miraculously surviving the fall from the cliff using his own means, John continues to be viewed by those nearby as an innocent victim.
He contrived to pin the blame on his half-brother Robert Sugden, played by Ryan Hawley, for a crime that he himself had committed – the act of forcing husband Aaron Dingle (performed by Danny Miller) towards the brink of a cliff.
On the 10th of September, Wednesday saw Robert’s arrest, even as he appealed that John posed a threat and had previously harmed Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Aaron is the only one authorized to sound an alert about Mack’s location, as he’s hidden in a subterranean shelter located close to John’s cottage.
With Aaron in a medically-induced coma and John being resolute about concealing his actions, Mack’s odds of living are rapidly decreasing as time passes.
At the police station, detectives grill Robert, while the falsehoods John weaves during questioning only serve to cast an even darker shadow on poor Robert’s predicament.
As Robert’s future hangs in the balance due to a significant development, the episode concludes with John standing in Aaron’s hospital room, finding himself there on his own.
With John’s ominous tendency to control others’ lives, it doesn’t take long for spectators to grow anxious about Aaron’s well-being.
You’ll have to watch all the action unfold via ITVX now, or tune in from 7.30pm on ITV1.
However, with beloved characters Aaron and Robert found in John’s control under distinct circumstances, is it possible to halt John before he acts?
