Tonight (22nd July), you won’t find Emmerdale on TV because ITV has decided to air the UEFA Women’s Euro semi-final instead.
In the initial stage of the competition, England will face off against Italy during the semifinal. The broadcasting of this match begins at 7 pm, causing a shift in the schedule for Emmerdale, which was originally set to air at 7:30 pm.
Fortunately, the soap will be back on its regular day, which is Wednesday, 23rd July. This is while Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) grapples with the revelation of an apparent confession, causing John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) to feel a heavy burden of guilt.
When the authorities reveal to Cain and Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) that Owen admitted to killing Nate, John feigns surprise at the revelation, even though he was the one masterminding the whole affair.
John aspires for a better emotional state in Cain, yet when he persistently queries Jonny McPherson’s character, Liam Cavanagh, regarding Owen, John finds himself conflicted at the sight of Cain seemingly being denied justice.
In other developments this week, Robert Sugden, portrayed by Ryan Hawley, remains increasingly wary of John and uncovers some compelling proof that might expose his secrets.
In the meantime, Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) grapples with a difficult choice as Kim Tate (Claire King) proposes buying Butlers Farm and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) presents Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) with a tough decision about their marriage, following his discovery that Charity wishes to be Sarah Sugden’s surrogate.
