Emmerdale’s April Windsor dealt lifeline after Ray Walters knifepoint horror in ITVX release

April Windsor, played by Amelia Flanagan, might escape the manipulative influence of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) in Emmerdale.

For months, they compelled her to deal drugs and engage in prostitution in Leeds. This culminated in her assaulting a man she believed to be a child predator with a vodka bottle. She thought she had killed him, and Ray deliberately allowed her to think she was a murderer.

Investigators discovered a forced labor operation at the couple’s farm, where they compelled Bear Wolf, also known as Joshua Richards, to work excessive hours and live in impoverished conditions in an attic room.

Knowing their plan was about to be discovered, Celia told Ray to stop and leave town. This unfortunately meant ending his relationship with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), despite his apparent feelings for her.

Today, after hurting Laurel’s feelings, he picked up April and offered to move on from a past event that happened in 2025. He then let her take what she thought was a murder weapon—a vodka bottle—and bury it in the woods.

Ray started digging a deep hole as soon as they got there, and April wondered why it needed to be so large. Then she suddenly understood – he wasn’t burying a bottle, he was burying her.

He threatened her with a knife, so she defended herself by hitting him with a bottle and then ran away. While escaping, she tripped on rough terrain and cut her hand.

This delay unfortunately allowed Ray to catch up with her, and he was ready to confront her angrily. However, instead of hurting her, he stabbed the knife into a tree and started to realize he was wrong.

The teenager begged him for help, explaining that if she were to come to harm, her father, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), would immediately report her missing, and he would become a suspect.

Ray knew he’d gone too far. He gave her the knife and urged her to escape. She needed to get away, and he would accept the blame from Celia for her disappearance.

Blood from April’s injured hand ran down the knife as she dropped it and obeyed his command, vanishing into the darkness.

Will she be OK?
