One thing is for sure, there are no hacks among this group.
It’s expected that Hacks will once again be a frontrunner at the 2025 Emmy Awards, just as it was in previous years. This assumption is based on the fact that the nominations for the annual award ceremony have been revealed, with CBS Mornings unveiling the first two categories on July 15th. The remainder of the nominees will be announced during the official livestream later in the day.
As nomination day approaches, it’s anticipated that numerous returning shows will continue to lead in various categories.
In the realm of dramas and comedies, shows like “Severance”, “The White Lotus”, “The Last of Us”, and “Slow Horses” were highly expected to be among the frontrunners. Meanwhile, the new seasons of “The Bear”, “Hacks”, “Shrinking”, and “Abbott Elementary” were primed to create a big impact. As for returning series, actors Pedro Pascal, Adam Scott, Jeremy Allen White, Gary Oldman, Jean Smart, Ayo Edebiri, Jason Segel, and Quinta Brunson were all likely to receive recognition again for their exceptional performances.
But where there are the old hats, there are also the exciting newcomers.
One of the highly discussed TV series from last year was “The Pitt,” featuring Noah Wyle’s comeback to the screen as an emergency medicine doctor. This drama series showcased exceptional performances, generating buzz for awards for the former ER star and co-writer/executive producer on the HBO Max program, along with actors Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, and Katherine LaNasa.
Just like Apple TV+’s new comedy “The Studio” has generated conversation during awards season, it delivers a satirical, sometimes uncomfortable commentary about the film industry and Hollywood. The show is spearheaded by Seth Rogen, Kathryn Hahn, Catherine O’Hara, Chase Sui Wonders, and Ike Barinholtz, with both the series and its actors being strong contenders for nominations.
To discover if any contenders have actually received a nomination, let’s move forward and take a look at the list of candidates nominated for this year’s Emmy Awards.
