Emmys 2025: Where Jason Isaacs’ White Lotus Character Is Today

Jason Isaacs knows his White Lotus character’s family may have checked out when it comes to support.

Although Timothy Ratliff’s family is unaware he considered a drastic act in Thailand to hide their money problems, the actor-who was nominated for an Emmy-believes his wife, Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey), would leave him if their financial difficulties were revealed.

Jason, 62, jokingly told reporter Heather McMahan at the Emmys on September 14th that whether or not he’d consider a reunion depended on how willing the other person was to visit him in prison and, playfully suggesting a risky method, smuggle items on her person.

Throughout the third season of the award-winning series (nominated for 23 awards total), Timothy struggled with suicidal thoughts while hiding a huge secret from his wife, Victoria, and their children-Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook), and Lochlan (Sam Nivola)-during their stay at a fancy resort. His desperation and the weight of the secret almost resulted in tragedy for their youngest son.

The intense heat in Thailand actually made it simple for Jason to convincingly play the role of the miserable finance executive.

He described it as feeling like you’re on a fantastic vacation, but actually being stuck in a crowded, hot sauna with a lot of tattooed men. He then explained that to play his character – a man struggling with intense depression, panic, and suicidal thoughts – he had to put himself in a very dark place, which he didn’t enjoy. He simply doesn’t like feeling miserable.

Jason explained that he was unhappy while performing the role, but thoroughly enjoyed himself when he wasn’t working on it.

The *Harry Potter* actor explained that someone helped him stay focused and step out of character when the cameras weren’t rolling.

You know, when I talk about my incredible partner, Emma Hewitt, who I’ve been with for 24 years, I always say she keeps me grounded. I was telling Heather this the other day – Emma has zero tolerance for drama or anything less than genuine. She wouldn’t stand for any foolishness, not for a second! She’s a wonderful influence in my life.

Although it’s unclear what will happen to Jason’s character, fans are optimistic that Victoria will return for the fourth season. Parker shared with *Live From TopMob: 2025 Emmys* that the new season will take place in the south of France.

Even though only a handful of cast members have returned for additional seasons, the former *Best in Show* star isn’t sure she’ll be among them, saying, “I don’t know if I’ll be involved.”
