Enshrouded: Best Builds After Update 7 (Wake of the Water)

The recent Update 7, ‘Wake of the Water,’ brought significant changes to Enshrouded, adding new content and rebalancing gameplay, which has altered the most effective character builds.

This game offers a lot of different powerful character options! You can play as skilled archers who excel at long-range combat, tough barbarians who are relentless in close-quarters fighting, or powerful spellcasters who can quickly defeat enemies.

Let’s explore five top builds in the game. We’re confident you’ll find one that suits your playstyle!

Best Builds After Update 7 | Enshrouded: Wake of the Water

Assassin – Dagger Specialist

Let’s start with the Assassin build. It’s designed around using daggers and bows, and both weapon types benefit from increasing your Dexterity. This is great because Dexterity was recently improved in an update, making this build even stronger!

This build focuses on maximizing quick, powerful attacks. It also makes you adaptable and highly mobile, allowing you to handle any challenge the game presents.

Getting the drop on enemies with stealth attacks is really effective, potentially killing them instantly or dealing significant damage. However, relying too much on stealth isn’t a good idea, as it can be unpredictable, so don’t make it your primary strategy.

This character build also works well with daggers that inflict effects like Poison, adding consistent damage over time to your already powerful attacks.

Focus on developing the Beastmaster skill tree, as well as Dexterity and Endurance skills – these are the most important ones to prioritize.

This game has tons of skills, but we’ll focus on the most important ones to keep things simple.

  • Battle Heal
  • Dagger Master
  • Expose Weakness
  • Multishot
  • Quick Reflex Block
  • Ranger
  • Slice and Dice
  • Venomous Blades

Wizard – All Your Spellcasting Needs

If you enjoy playing a powerful spellcaster, this character build is perfect for you. It’s designed around using staves and wands, and relies heavily on your Intelligence and Spirit scores.

To maximize your damage output, focus on increasing your Intelligence. After that, building up your Spirit will give you a larger Mana pool, letting you cast spells more often.

This character build excels at using elemental powers and can inflict massive damage, whether focusing on a single enemy or a wide area.

The biggest downside is that you’ll be very fragile. You won’t be able to take much damage, as the build prioritizes dealing a lot of damage. But the idea is, if you eliminate enemies quickly enough, you won’t have time to be hit!

When choosing skills, prioritize those that increase your Intelligence and Spirit. Beyond that, here are some particularly useful skills to consider:

  • Blink
  • Mass Destruction
  • Radiant Aura
  • Water Aura
  • Wizard

Barbarian – Two-Handed Brawler

Okay, so if the other builds didn’t quite click for you, let me tell you about the Barbarian! It’s totally different – this one is all about going in strong with big, two-handed weapons and just being super tough. You can basically take a beating and keep fighting – it’s perfect if you like being right in the middle of everything!

This character build prioritizes Strength for dealing damage and Constitution for increasing health. Use any two-handed weapon as your main attack, but also carry a bow or wand for extra versatility.

This setup will make close-range combat much easier. You’ll deal plenty of damage and have enough health to easily defeat most enemies!

The main weakness is that you don’t have many ways to attack from a distance. While you can use a bow or wand, your stats mean they won’t be very effective, so save them for emergencies only.

With all of that said, here are some of the key skills you want to grab:

  • Any Skill that fits the damage type of your weapon of choice (Cutting for greatswords, for example)
  • Backstab Damage
  • Barbarian
  • Battle Heal
  • Blood Rage
  • Feast
  • Jump Attack

Battlemage – Tank and Cast

Want to try something different? This build lets you be a powerful spellcaster and hold your own in close combat! It’s a tougher option for players who found the previous spellcaster build a little too fragile.

This character build prioritizes staying alive and providing support. You’ll generally want to use a wand and shield, but a staff is a good option for fighting from a distance.

Relying on the wand as your primary weapon simplifies managing your Mana. It automatically restores your Mana, helping you avoid running out during extended battles!

When building your character, prioritize Intelligence to increase your damage output and Constitution to improve your health. The goal is to create a durable mage who can withstand a lot of damage!

The biggest weakness of this setup is its lower damage compared to other options. It prioritizes staying alive over dealing a lot of magical damage. You’ll also need to frequently switch between your two weapons to play it effectively.

Now, when it comes to skills, these are the main ones to look out for:

  • Blink
  • Life Burst
  • Shared Misery
  • Tower
  • Unity
  • Wand Master
  • Water Aura

Archer – Ranged Supremacy

We began this list with a character focused on using a bow, so it feels right to finish with another bow-using build! This one is almost the opposite of the first – you’ll mainly rely on your bow, with daggers serving as a secondary weapon.

Like previously, your primary focus should be on increasing Dexterity to maximize your damage output. However, it’s also beneficial to put points into Intelligence, as certain skills, such as Water Aura, will significantly improve your ability to survive.

This build keeps you at a safe distance from enemies, making it very reliable for staying alive. Plus, it still deals plenty of damage, even against multiple opponents!

This build’s biggest drawback is that relying heavily on bows can be expensive. You’ll frequently need to gather materials to make powerful arrows, such as Explosive Arrows. It can also be challenging to advance until you unlock upgrades like the Eternal Ice Arrow.

With that said, here’s a quick list of the main skills to aim for:

  • Chain Reaction
  • Multishot
  • Ranger
  • Sharpshooter
  • Shell Shock
  • Water Aura

That wraps up our list of the top Enshrouded builds as of Update 7 – Wake of the Water!
