This week, Epic Games is giving away two free games on the Epic Games Store, including a spooky horror game set during World War I – just in time for Halloween! PC players have one week to add them to their library. Once you claim them, the games are yours to keep forever, but this offer ends on October 23rd, when new games will become available at their regular price.
From October 16th to October 23rd, Epic Games Store users on PC can get two games for free: *Amnesia: The Bunker* and *Samorost 3*. *Amnesia: The Bunker* is a great choice for this time of year, and *Samorost 3* is being offered because its earlier versions were previously available as free games.
Amnesia: The Bunker
Released in 2023, *Amnesia: The Bunker* is a terrifying survival-horror game from Frictional Games, the creators of the *Amnesia* series and *SOMA*. You play as a lone French soldier trapped in a deserted World War I bunker, desperately trying to escape with just a single bullet. But you quickly discover you aren’t as alone as you thought.
Amnesia: The Bunker, the fourth installment and a prequel to 2020’s Amnesia: Rebirth, received a score of 77 on Metacritic. Players on Steam overwhelmingly enjoyed it, giving it a 94% approval rating based on over 5,398 reviews – earning it a “Very Positive” rating, which is one of the highest accolades a game can receive on the platform. The game typically sells for $24.99 on PC.
Samorost 3
Samorost 3 is an adventure and puzzle game where you explore and click to interact with the world, created by Amanita Design. It’s the third game in the Samorost series, following Samorost 2, and the first full-length installment in a series that began in 2003.
The PC game, normally priced at $19.99, received a score of 80 on Metacritic. It’s also been very well-received on Steam, with 94% of over 1,495 user reviews being positive. Both games are excellent and an improvement over last week’s deal, although they aren’t particularly lengthy. *Samorost 3* takes around four to five hours to complete, and *Amnesia: The Bunker* takes about five to seven.
