Even though Halloween hasn’t arrived yet, theme parks are already starting to decorate for Christmas. They begin the transition so early because the Christmas season immediately follows Halloween, and they need time to get everything up and ready to go.
Universal Studios is already starting to decorate for Christmas while still running its Halloween Horror Nights event. However, some early decorations for the new Epic Universe park are causing a stir online. A photo of lights near the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry attraction is circulating on Twitter, and many people are saying the arrangement looks… suggestive. You can see the image and decide for yourself.
People online are jokingly comparing the shape of the illuminated object to the Grinch’s backside, even suggesting it resembles a piercing. It’s a visual I definitely didn’t need to see!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas at Universal Orlando are always beautifully decorated for Christmas. Even though I’m not a huge Harry Potter enthusiast, Hogsmeade is consistently one of my favorite places to be in any theme park during the holiday season.
I really loved the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic when I visited Epic Universe earlier this year. It features two of the park’s best rides, and the Parisian atmosphere is fantastic. I was excited to experience it during the holidays, but what I saw was unexpected.
Once you notice it, it’s hard to unsee. It’s unclear if this was intended to be something more than just a decorative piece, but it feels like the initial concept didn’t quite translate well into reality. Perhaps it will look better once all the holiday decorations are in place, but for now, it is what it is.
It should be said that during the day, when the lights aren’t on, things don’t look quite so suggestive. The lights are part of a display of Christmas greenery that Orlando Informer caught during daylight. It also shows that when looking straight on, because of the difference in depth, the full display isn’t as visible the way it is when lit up at a distance.

Even though the lights aren’t perfect, I think the first Christmas at Epic Universe will be amazing. The park is already fantastic, and the holiday spirit will make it even more special.
