There’s one thing Erin Andrews would have done differently on her road to motherhood.
The Fox Sports reporter and her husband, Jarret Stoll, welcomed their son, Mack, now two years old, through surrogacy in June 2023, after a long struggle with infertility. However, she now wishes they had begun trying to have a family earlier.
In a recent interview with Today.com, she shared that if she’d known about egg freezing and IVF earlier in life, she would have seriously considered it. She explained that these options weren’t discussed as openly when she was younger, which is why she feels it’s important to be so open about her own experiences now.
Although she started freezing her eggs at 35, the 47-year-old still had difficulty getting pregnant. Receiving a diagnosis of cervical cancer in September 2016 made things even harder.
I was at my yearly check-up with my gynecologist, feeling fine and with no symptoms, just going because it was time for my routine appointment. Then I received a call with the news that I had cervical cancer.
Although the sportscaster was given a clean bill of health in November, she continued to face challenges with having children, which led her to consider using a surrogate. Because of this experience, she often advises women to think about their future family plans and start preparing as early as possible.
She said young women interested in her career often ask for advice. Her response is always the same: ‘Freeze your eggs. It will give you more flexibility and peace of mind about having children later.’

Earlier this month, Erin told TopMob News that she’s equally committed to helping her family and friends prioritize their health and well-being.
She confessed she worried a lot. She explained that she often urges her friends to see a doctor if they mention any health concerns, always ready to recommend a specialist or suggest they get tested.
Regular checkups played a huge role in Erin’s successful fight against cancer.
I’d been consistently getting checkups, so when they found something, it was early enough to treat, and I was able to recover quickly, she explained.
