Lyrical Games and Plot Twist just released a four-minute video showing gameplay from their new game, Erosion. It’s an open-world action game set in the Wild West, with roguelike elements and a time-looping mechanic.
The video shows the beginning of a game quest and demonstrates how player decisions can change the story and create different outcomes.
Here is a brief overview of the game, via Lyrical Games:
Erosion is an open-world roguelike game where you explore a post-apocalyptic Wild West. It combines fast-paced action with a story that changes with each playthrough, and every time your character dies, ten years pass in the game world.
Travel through time in a desperate attempt to rescue your daughter from a cruel warlord. You’ll have multiple chances, but each one comes with a heavy price. Explore a broken world torn apart by different groups, gathering weapons and changing the lives of its strange people as you jump between timelines. You can even join a chicken worshippers’ group, find a cool vehicle, race to win money, and risk it all at the casino. Venture into the depths of a mysterious Pillar, fighting your way through ever-changing, crumbling dungeons – all to save your daughter, or lose her forever.
The game Erosion will first be available in Early Access on Xbox Series and PC (through Steam and the Microsoft Store) in spring 2026. The complete version will then launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC later that year.
