Escape from Tarkov, the challenging extraction shooter from Battlestate Games, has faced numerous problems since its early beta and especially after its release on Steam. The launch of Version 1.0 was met with server crashes, cheating, and performance problems. Despite these issues, the game’s intense realism continues to attract players – the developer recently announced over one million copies sold since Version 1.0 launched.
The game’s total sales aren’t broken down by platform, but the numbers don’t include purchases from the closed beta – a significant achievement. Battlestate Games also revealed players have spent a combined 135 million hours in the game – that’s over 15,400 years! This activity led to more than 200 million completed raids on the Customs map, assuming each raid finished successfully.
Only 500 players successfully completed the game Tarkov and reached the ending. We’ve shared our review of the game, and excitingly, more content is planned, including downloadable content focused on the Scav game mode and versions for consoles.
