Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson were catching strays at the 2025 ESPY Awards.
During Shane Gillis’ opening monologue as the host, he humorously highlighted the unusual age gap in the relationship between the 73-year-old former NFL coach and his 24-year-old girlfriend, drawing attention to their significant difference in ages.
In his speech, Shane explained that a bookie is equivalent to the bedtime reading material for Bill Belichick’s partner.
The 37-year-old went on to share the titles of the books they had read, which included “The Extremely Amorous Caterpillar”, “The Little Engine That Eventually Required a Pill Before It Could Succeed” and, Shane’s preferred one, “Goodnight Breasts”.
The ribbing, the comedian cautioned, was all meant to be in good fun.
He added, “I’m not disparaging Bill Belichick in any way.” He went on to say, “Considering he’s 73 years old, and dating someone young and vibrant is causing controversy? Isn’t that something our nation once prided itself on? We used to be a country that celebrated individuality and freedom.
Shane went on to say, “He has six Super Bowl wins under his belt. Oh, and he’s seeing a young woman who is 24 years old. Perhaps if you all could manage six Super Bowl victories too.
However, it’s not the first instance where the ex-Patriots coach and Jordan have attracted notice due to their 48-year age difference. In fact, even during the NFL Honors in February, the host, Snoop Dogg, made a remark directed at the pair as well.
For quite some time now, I’ve been an avid football enthusiast. To put it into perspective, I can recall a period when the Cowboys were at their best, and another when the Chiefs struggled. This is what Snoop shared in his opening remarks.
He continued, reminiscing, ‘I recall this…’ Then he seemed to pause, as if wondering, ‘Wasn’t Bill Belichick’s girlfriend not yet born?’
In response to the joke, the pair in attendance, Bill and Jordan, handled it gracefully. Bill couldn’t help but smirk, while Jordan initially looked taken aback, then closed her eyes and let out a laugh.
In response to Jordon uploading a picture from their Florida trip in March, where Bill was seen lifting her “airplane” style on the beach, Mina Kimes quickly responded.
In my own words, I’d say, “I shared a picture featuring my 18-month-old, who adores our homemade ‘airplane’ game.
The post quickly became a favorite, racking up millions of views and many responses.
In a surprising turn of events, one user commented that the age difference between you and your child isn’t as significant as that between Bill Belichick and his girlfriend. Another user pointed out an interesting fact: although your daughter is 38 years younger, Belichick’s girlfriend is 48 years younger than him.
