It seems the high has ended for one member of the Euphoriafamily.
The composer for the HBO series, Labrinth, recently expressed his honest and critical thoughts about both the show and his record label, Columbia Records, in a powerful statement.
On March 12th, Labrinth announced on Instagram that he was leaving the music industry, specifically calling out Columbia Records and the show Euphoria with strong language. He ended his post with a farewell message: ‘Thank you and good night.’
Although 37-year-old Timothy Lee McKenzie didn’t say why he was leaving, his musical colleagues offered messages of encouragement.
Kesha wrote in the comments, “Protect your inner peace, my love. You are loved and supported.”
Meanwhile, Grammy winner India Arie added, “I SO FEEL YOU. TY AND GN.”
TopMob News has contacted HBO and Columbia Records for a statement, but they haven’t responded yet.
I’ve been a huge fan of Labrinth’s work on Euphoria ever since it started back in 2019 – the show with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, and Alexa Demie is just incredible. Last year, I was so excited to hear that he’d be collaborating with the amazing Hans Zimmer for the third and final season. It’s going to be epic!
He announced in a July statement to Variety that he was excited to contribute to another season of Euphoria. He expressed his admiration for composer Hans Zimmer, calling him a hero, and said he hoped to add some fresh creativity to the show’s music.
I was so excited when Hans Zimmer announced he was joining the project! He described the team as an incredible group of storytellers, and he specifically highlighted Sam Levinson’s visionary leadership – which, honestly, is a huge compliment and really sets the stage for something special.

Labrinth’s music has become a key part of the show’s feel, and I’m excited to continue working on it and help create the sound for the new season,” the 68-year-old explained.
Labrinth significantly contributed to the music of the show Euphoria. He even won an Emmy in 2020 for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for his song, “All For Us.”
As a creative, you dream of your work resonating with people, and seeing that happen with this particular track was incredible. I originally created it for my album, but then it became part of the whole Euphoria vibe, which was amazing. Honestly, seeing my music visually represented on an HBO show? It was a total ‘pinch-me’ moment and a real highlight in my career. It’s those unexpected connections that make this job so rewarding!
Labrinth joined the show thanks to his existing friendship with the series creator, Levinson.
We started chatting about our favorite music and how it’s used in movies. We connected really well, and that natural connection led to the music you’re hearing now.
Labrinth isn’t the only celebrity to publicly share their disagreements. Here’s a look at other stars who’ve had public feuds.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is pictured second from the left.)
He told Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it wasn’t related to their work on the show and wasn’t romantic in nature. He emphasized that it was a private matter between the two of them that had been developing over time.
In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.
Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t influence the hiring decision by having anyone else removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that actor Danny Masterson, known from “That ’70s Show,” was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a consistently rude and unpleasant person.
He did not respond to her remarks publicly.
Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset when he was on The Talk in 2014, after she mispronounced his name.
She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this field?’ She responded sharply, telling him, ‘Don’t underestimate me, because I’ll completely overwhelm you.’ She added, ‘You have no idea what you’re up against, young man.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, and expressed her enjoyment of a feminine lifestyle.

As a lifestyle expert, I remember when JoJo Siwa shared a story on TikTok about a less-than-pleasant experience with Candace Cameron Bure. JoJo said Candace was the “rudest” celebrity she’d met, explaining it stemmed from Candace declining a photo request on the red carpet. It was a tough moment for JoJo, who felt really hurt at the time. Thankfully, Candace quickly apologized, acknowledging she’d disappointed a young JoJo and sincerely saying she was sorry for not taking that picture – it was a really gracious response, and a good reminder that everyone has moments they regret.
Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in its holiday films, she said it wouldn’t. She explained that the network would continue to focus on stories about traditional marriage.
JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, said on Instagram that the actress’s remark was offensive and harmful to many people.

Oh my god, this whole thing with Courtney Love and Olivia Rodrigo was wild. Back in June 2021, Courtney basically called Olivia out for using Hole’s album cover as inspiration for a photo without giving credit – can you believe it?! Olivia’s response was so sweet, she just said she loved Courtney and felt her pain. But Courtney? She was amazing. She basically took credit for inspiring Olivia, and then casually dropped that her favorite florist is in London and told Olivia to DM her for details! Like, a florist recommendation?! And a winky face?! It was the most Courtney Love thing ever, and I was living for it. I just adore how she handled it!

While on Watch What Happens Live, the actor from Happy Days explained why he and the star of Forrest Gump didn’t get along while filming their 1989 movie, Turner & Hooch.
I directed the movie for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.
Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to hit it off. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said, “we got along great.”
He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”
Anyone who watched The Hills likely remembers that famous line from Lauren, spoken at the start of season three. The drama between her and Heidi began when Heidi started dating Spencer Pratt, and it escalated when Lauren claimed Heidi and Spencer spread a false rumor about her and her then-boyfriend, Jason Wahler, alleging they had made a sex tape.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe the drama! It all started back in 2017 when Tyrese totally went off on Dwayne on Instagram after they delayed Fast & Furious 9 – pushing it all the way to 2020! And get this – the same day, they announced a whole spinoff movie starring Dwayne and Jason Statham! Can you believe the nerve? Then, the next month, Tyrese actually threatened to quit Fast 9 if Dwayne was still involved! I was losing it, honestly. It was a total mess, and I was glued to every update!
Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on the The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he expects they will. He did mention he’d spoken with one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not with Johnson himself.
Tyrese admitted he often ended up speaking for others connected to the film series, but he regretted being the only one to publicly share those opinions. He acknowledged it was his mistake, calling it unprofessional and inappropriate.

No more bad blood here.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to have even influenced Taylor’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a dancer and clashing tour schedules, was resolved when Katy sent Taylor an olive branch – a symbol of peace – before Taylor’s Reputation Tour began.
Taylor shared in an Instagram video that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.
Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and later made comments about her co-star that many found surprising.
During a September 2017 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.
She said she was just devastated. They had talked about it all week, and she was really bothered because her memory of what happened was completely different.
It just breaks my heart to see everything happening, but honestly, what really matters to me is that time we all shared. It wasn’t just a job, you know? It became something so much more, taking up years of our lives. I’m desperately hoping that those years, that incredible, special thing we built together and that so many people connected with, will overshadow all the drama now. It was such a gift to be a part of something like that, truly a privilege.
And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award at the Q Awards that year, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously said he didn’t believe lip-syncing qualified as a live act and even suggested performers who lip-sync should face serious consequences, given the price fans pay for tickets.

The actress, formerly known for her role on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to no longer be considered for an Emmy Award. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.
Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine’s choice in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When people reveal their true selves, you should pay attention,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s been a valuable lesson for me.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week became a major headline. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what caused the argument with Nicki.
Cardi B recently told W magazine that someone has been repeatedly criticizing her. She explained that she’d talked to this person twice and thought they’d resolved the issue, but the criticism continued.
The conflict really escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had reportedly liked, then unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting. Nicki has said she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.
Cardi B explained that she chose to be with her daughter instead of pursuing a highly profitable Bruno Mars tour. She emphasized her strong love for her daughter and her dedication as a mother, expressing frustration that someone without children would criticize her choices. She also pointed out that opportunities to meet other artists are rare, and she wasn’t going to pass up a chance encounter.

Oh my gosh, it all started way back in 2009, and I remember it like it was yesterday! Kanye interrupted Taylor during her VMA acceptance speech – it was insane! They actually seemed to patch things up after that, and for a while, they were even friends, which was so cool to see. But then, in 2016, everything went south again with that song, “Famous.” He literally named Taylor in the lyrics, and honestly, that’s when I knew things were never going to be the same. I was devastated! It just felt like a betrayal, and I’ve been following their drama ever since.
As a bit of a pop culture observer, I found Kanye’s little Instagram move quite interesting! Right before the Grammys in February 2025, he suddenly only followed Taylor on the platform. It was a pretty silent gesture – he didn’t say anything about it, and Taylor hasn’t publicly acknowledged it either. It definitely got people talking, though!

“I don’t know her.”
The rumored rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez began with a 2003 television interview in Germany. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey famously responded, “I don’t know her.”
