Eva Mendes Details Hiding Her Second Pregnancy From the Public

Eva Mendes is pulling back the curtain on a personal chapter in her life.

Actress Eva Mendes remembered trying to conceal her pregnancy with her daughter Amada Lee, now 9, from the public. She shares Amada and her other daughter, Esmeralda Amada, 10, with Ryan Gosling.

In a recent Instagram post, Eva shared a look back at 2016, revealing she was secretly pregnant with her second child. She also mentioned making some successful career decisions that year, but sadly, her brother John passed away, which was a very difficult time for her.

She spoke about Amada, born on April 29th, saying, “Thank goodness my youngest was born – she really saved our family.”

The 51-year-old shared an old black-and-white photo on social media. In it, she’s sitting with a blanket draped over her lap, and she wrote, “2016 – I was pregnant. This is me hiding my belly.”

She later shared some stunning photos, including pictures from her first photoshoot and magazine cover appearance after having a baby.

Eva and Ryan generally prefer to keep their personal lives to themselves, but Eva recently addressed rumors that they were relocating their family to London.

Eva responded to a Daily Mail article in November with an Instagram Story, saying, “Even though I’m enjoying my time in London, I’m really looking forward to returning home and celebrating the Dodgers’ World Series win!”

Although she plans to stay in Los Angeles, she’s been open about her choice to step away from the Hollywood film scene.

Eva recently told The Times that acting wasn’t a true passion for her. She wasn’t trying to be humble, but she admitted she wasn’t a particularly strong actress, though she did have some good performances when working alongside talented colleagues.

The actress from The Place Beyond the Pines shared that her Cuban-American background sometimes led to her being cast in limited, stereotypical roles.

She remembered getting passed over for roles because of her ethnicity. Early in auditions, she’d often be told she didn’t fit the part simply because of how she looked. It was a recurring issue she constantly faced.
