Eva Mendes is in crazy, stupid love with Ryan Gosling.
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis sweetly showed her support for her husband, Ryan Reynolds, during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 5th. She wore the same striped sweater he had worn in a promotional clip for his new movie, Project Hail Mary, as a charming nod to his work.
Wearing a blue cardigan from Louis Vuitton, Eva was brought out from backstage while Ryan led everyone in a birthday song to celebrate her 52nd birthday.
Ryan, 45, joked to Jimmy Fallon that he might be found in the Hudson River the next day. He then affectionately greeted his daughter, Eva, saying, “Hi, sweetheart.”
After a surprise serenade from the audience accompanied by a high school marching band, Eva showed Ryan her thanks with several sweet kisses on his cheek.
During his appearance on the late-night talk show, Ryan Gosling shared a funny video of him talking to his Alexa device about Eva Mendes, the mother of his daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 9. The conversation was quite engaging and humorous.
I just love Eva Mendes, and Ryan Gosling gets it too! He was chatting with his Amazon assistant – while rocking the same striped sweater, by the way – and it totally agreed. The assistant pointed out that she’s such a versatile actress and doesn’t always get the recognition she deserves, and I couldn’t agree more!
Ryan found it funny when Alexa mentioned him while praising Eva’s performance in their 2012 film, The Place Beyond the Pines.
The device also pointed out that the actress made a wise decision prioritizing her family over acting, and Ryan wholeheartedly agreed.

Ryan has always been very open about how much he loves Eva. Although he usually keeps details about his personal life to himself, he doesn’t hesitate to express his admiration for her whenever he gets the chance.
Remember that funny bit he did on Jeopardy!? He wrote a kind message to Eva while answering a Final Jeopardy question about an injury that first gained attention in 1967 when it happened to Red Sox player Jim Lonborg.
“What is… IDK?” he jokingly wrote, adding in the margin, “I [heart] Eva.”

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes began their relationship soon after appearing as a couple in the 2012 movie A Place Beyond the Pines.
Three years after the film came out, Ryan shared with Hello magazine that he’s confident he’s with the right person. When asked what he loves most about his partner, he simply said, “She’s Eva Mendes.”
As he put it, “There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”

For Ryan, life with Eva and their daughters Esmeralda and Amada is “heaven.”
You know, as someone who focuses on creating a positive home life, I always say your surroundings profoundly impact your mood. I once heard someone describe their daily life as feeling like walking through a field of flowers – and isn’t that lovely? They were talking about living with their family, and said it felt like a little bit of sunshine, especially when times are tough. It really resonated with me – creating that feeling of joy and peace at home is something we should all strive for.

When Ryan Gosling won a Golden Globe in 2017 for La La Land, he dedicated the award to Eva Mendes and her late brother, Juan Carlos Méndez Jr. In his speech, he explained that while he was enjoying making the film, Eva was pregnant with their second child, raising their daughter, and supporting her brother as he bravely fought cancer.
Ryan continued, “If she hadn’t taken on so much to allow me to be here, someone else would definitely be standing up here today. So, thank you, darling.”

Eva Longoria always believed motherhood wasn’t in her future, until she met Ryan Gosling, as she puts it.
She explained to Women’s Health in 2019 that falling in love with him was the reason she wanted to be a mother – not to have children of her own, but to help raise his. She emphasized that this desire was uniquely tied to him.

Oh my gosh, remember when Eva talked about life with Ryan and their two daughters back in 2019? She told Access it was totally a mix of everything – amazing, wonderful, but also… completely crazy-making! It just sounded so real, you know? Like, being a mom is the best, but it’s also, well, hard. I totally get it, and she just said it perfectly!
She admitted it was challenging. “At the end of the day, after the kids are in bed, Ryan and I just look at each other, relieved that we made it through okay.”

In May 2020, Eva explained to a fan on Instagram that she and Ryan prefer to keep their family life private. She shared that she doesn’t discuss Ryan’s qualities as a father because she values keeping that aspect of their lives personal.
I’m happy to share what I’m comfortable with, but I’d prefer to keep my partner and children from getting too involved. I hope that makes sense – it’s just my honest opinion.

Likewise, Ryan didn’t really have baby on the brain until Eva came along.
Ryan Gosling said in a 2023 interview with GQ that he hadn’t thought about having children before meeting Eva Mendes. However, once he met her, he knew he only wanted to have kids with her.
Ryan shared that while filming The Place Beyond the Pines, he felt a strong connection with his co-stars and wished their on-screen family dynamic was real. He said he’d be incredibly happy to have that kind of life.

When it comes to parenting, Ryan also admittedly looks to his longtime love.
“I just lean on Eva,” he told GQ in 2023. “She knows what’s important, always. She just somehow knows. So if ever I’m in my head about it, I just ask her.”

Looking back on my life before meeting my wife, Eva, I realized I was searching for someone. It’s funny how you can spend years feeling incomplete, not even fully realizing what you’re looking for, but just knowing something’s missing. That’s exactly how I felt – I was searching for her, even before I knew who ‘her’ was!
He added, “But it all makes sense now.”

As a huge fan, I was so thrilled to see Eva publicly support Ryan after the amazing success of Barbie! She posted on Instagram in January 2024 about how proud she is of him, especially considering all the negativity he faced when he first took on the role. It just warmed my heart to see her call him ‘my man’ and show him so much love despite everything.
Even with all the online mockery and articles criticizing him, he created a truly original, funny, and deeply moving character that has become iconic, and ultimately earned an Oscar nomination.

Eva says working with Ryan Gosling on The Place Beyond the Pines was a transformative experience. In a March 2024 interview on Today, she described his acting process as unlike anything she’d ever witnessed.
The actor explained that he’s dedicated to his work and strives for perfection in everything he does, which includes helping his fellow actors deliver their best performances.

But for Ryan, Eva is the one doling out the acting lessons.
He told Extra in May 2024 that she’s the best acting coach he’s ever worked with, praising her endless support and guidance.
