Every Avengers: Doomsday Reveal in the First Four Trailers

The initial trailers for Avengers: Doomsday don’t reveal much about the story, but they’ve still given fans some exciting glimpses of what’s to come. Marvel is aiming for Doomsday to be the year’s biggest film, and they’re releasing a series of teasers alongside the new Avatar movie. While early reports suggested four trailers, there’s now talk of potentially seeing up to seven. The four released so far are visually stunning, and directors the Russo brothers seem to have stepped up their filmmaking style compared to their previous Marvel work.

The four trailers for Doomsday each highlighted a different group of heroes – first Captain America, then Thor, followed by the X-Men, and finally Wakanda. These trailers were cleverly designed with exciting reveals, unexpected twists, and intriguing clues about the movie. Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve been able to gather from them.

Steve Rogers Has a Child

It’s official: Chris Evans is reprising his role as Steve Rogers for the upcoming film, along with Robert Downey Jr. Interestingly, Steve Rogers’ story has taken a heartwarming turn – he’s now a father. The theme of parenthood appears to be central to the plot, with multiple characters focused on protecting their children – and the Fantastic Four likely driven by Doom’s connection to Franklin Richards. It seems Steve will be stepping back into action as an Avenger.

Thor Is Preparing for One Last Battle for Love

The latest trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder shows Chris Hemsworth returning as Thor, this time focused on protecting his daughter, Love. The trailer also gives us a look at a more classic Thor costume. Interestingly, Thor is shown praying to his father, Odin. Since the post-credits scene in Thor: Love & Thunder established that Valhalla – the Asgardian afterlife – exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we might see Odin answer Thor’s prayer.

Professor X & Magneto Know That Their World is Doomed

The latest trailer showcases the X-Men, with Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier and Ian McKellan as Magneto. Fans will notice Xavier’s costume is much closer to his comic book look than in previous films. He’s also using a more traditional wheelchair, similar to the one seen in the early 2000s movies, instead of the high-tech hoverchair from the animated series. The trailer’s dialogue reveals Xavier and Magneto are grappling with a bleak future and the possibility of their own demise, all while their home, the X-Mansion, lies in ruins.

We Finally Have a Comics-Accurate Cyclops

Fox’s X-Men movies were known for their playful takes on superhero costumes, but Avengers: Doomsday is finally delivering costumes that look exactly like they do in the comics. We briefly see a heartfelt moment with Scott Summers, played again by James Marsden, sporting the iconic Cyclops suit from the 1990s X-Men comics and cartoon – though updated without the classic trunks. Plus, his optic blasts are more visually impressive than ever before.

M’Baku is King of Wakanda

The latest trailer is now available, and it centers on Wakanda. It confirms that Winston Duke’s character, M’Baku, has become the new leader. Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, explains that M’Baku is preparing his people for a difficult future, suggesting the trailer continues the themes established in the recent X-Men teaser.

Shuri & Namor Both Have New Costumes

The first look at the upcoming film reveals new costumes for both Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, and Tenoch Huerta as Namor. Shuri’s outfit features blue accents, suggesting a connection to Atlantean technology, and Namor’s includes a panther-inspired design similar to those created by Shuri. This indicates that Wakanda and Atlantis continue to work together and are now exchanging technological advancements.

The Fantastic Four Arrive at Wakanda

The end of Thunderbolts hinted at the arrival of the Fantastic Four in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe for Avengers: Doomsday, and a recent trailer for the Wakanda film confirms their story will continue there. The trailer shows Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing, meeting the people of Wakanda and introducing his team, the Fantastic Four. It’s unclear if they’ll go straight to Wakanda, or if they’ll interact with other MCU heroes like the Thunderbolts beforehand.
