The issue with the Avengers lies in their tendency to lack unity when it’s most crucial.

The constant squabbles among the Avengers ultimately cause them to disband and fresh groups to assemble. Despite this, each incarnation of the Avengers possesses unique strengths due to their shared commitment to combating wrongdoing. Nevertheless, receiving participation awards lacks excitement, particularly within the realm of superhero entertainment.

5) Avengers 2.0

In the concluding scenes of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the second incarnation of the Avengers team is established. After Iron Man (Tony Stark), Thor, and Hawkeye step down, Captain America and Black Widow take over the mantle. They bring in War Machine, Falcon, Wanda Maximoff, and Vision, setting up their base at the Avengers Complex.

Regardless of their impressive lineup, the revamped Avengers team struggle to leave a mark within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They remain united until the start of Captain America: Civil War, but their first joint operation concludes disastrously. Crossbones detonates himself, resulting in numerous casualties that include King T’Chaka.

To counteract this menace, the Watcher gathers champions from various realities, such as Captain Carter, Gamora, Doctor Strange, and Killmonger. This group, known as the Guardians of the Multiverse (essentially all Avengers), manage to save the day, but their limited screen time in an animated show may affect their popularity.

3) The Secret Avengers

In “Captain America: Civil War,” the Sokovia Accords cause a rift among the remaining Avengers. They struggle to decide on the right path forward, but then Helmut Zemo reveals a video showing the Winter Soldier killing Howard and Maria Stark. This shocking revelation pushes Tony Stark over the edge, causing him to label Captain America as a fugitive instead of finding a resolution together.

On the run from authorities, Steve evades capture and frees Sam Wilson. He then links up with Natasha Romanoff, continuing their crusade against wrongdoing. This continues until the events of Avengers: Infinity War, where it becomes apparent that infighting must cease. Despite having only one battle sequence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, subduing a few members of Thanos’ Black Order is no minor accomplishment for the Secret Avengers.

In the beginning of “Thunderbolts“, the main team is in a dire state with no advantages whatsoever. They narrowly avoid capture by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and persist due to their desire to protect their close friend, Bob. However, it’s eventually revealed that Bob becomes a significant issue when the Void emerges on the scene.

The Thunderbolts aid Bob in overcoming his past traumas, and upon completion, they shift their focus towards Valentina. Seizing the moment, she declares that her potential assassins are none other than the New Avengers. For a year, they function as Earth’s most powerful defenders until Sam Wilson voices concerns, demonstrating that they may indeed possess the abilities required to safeguard our planet.

1) The Avengers

In the movie “The Avengers,” the team that Nick Fury brings together represents the best of the best. Though they come from diverse backgrounds, these heroes manage to find shared ground at a crucial moment to prevent Loki from gaining control over the world. They not only halt Loki’s ambition but also successfully disrupted Ultron’s plan to wipe out humanity altogether.

Originally, the Avengers seemed to stumble among themselves, and it’ll be quite an effort for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to assemble a new team that outshines them. It might well be that the initial six members of this group will be remembered as the greatest in history.
