Every Confirmed Star Trek Game in Development, Ranked from Least to Most Promising

Star Trek is one of the most popular science fiction series ever created, and it’s been adapted into many video games. While not all of these games have been huge successes, it’s always exciting to explore the Star Trek universe in a new way. Luckily for fans, several new Star Trek games are on the horizon, and the recent announcement of Star Trek: Shadow Frontier from Bloober Team makes the future look particularly bright.

Several new Star Trek games have already come out in 2026, with varying degrees of success. Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, a survival strategy game, received generally positive feedback on Steam. However, even more Star Trek games are currently in development and scheduled to be released in 2026 and 2027. To help you keep track of them all, here’s a list of every confirmed Star Trek game coming out for the rest of 2026 and beyond, ranked from least to most anticipated.

3) Star Trek: Warp

Genre: Digital TCG / Strategy Game

Release Date: 2026

This May, Monumental LLC and Plarium Global revealed a new digital version of the classic Star Trek trading card game. Players can collect digital cards showcasing famous characters and ships from across the entire Star Trek universe, and then use those cards to compete in strategic battles on a unique seven-lane game board.

If you enjoy virtual card games, this could be something to look forward to. However, it’s a fairly specific type of game, and as it’s free to play, its success will depend on how the game is monetized. While I’ll be watching its development, it might not appeal to most Star Trek fans. It’s currently planned for release in 2026, but a firm date hasn’t been announced yet.

2) Star Trek: Outposts Unknown

Genre: Colony Sim / Resource Management

Release Date: 2026

Announced at Summer Game Fest, Star Trek: Outposts Unknown is a new game where you build and manage colonies throughout the galaxy. The developers at Magic Fuel Games say it’s the very first Star Trek game focused on building outposts. If you enjoy colony simulation games with resource management and strategic gameplay, this one looks promising.

We just learned about Outposts Unknown, and while details are still emerging, it looks like it will offer a really interesting colony-building game. The game is set across a galaxy, and players will explore different planets, meet new people, and discover new technology to create a thriving base. Once you’ve established a colony, you’ll move on to another planet and start the process all over again. A demo is currently available on Steam if you want to try it out for yourself. I’m personally very excited about this fresh take on the Star Trek universe and can’t wait to play it!

1) Star Trek: Shadow Frontier

Genre: Action-Adventure / Thriller

Release Date: 2027

Bloober Team, known for scary games like Blair Witch and the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, is surprisingly working on a Star Trek game. The announcement came from Paramount Games and Bloober Team during a recent gaming event. True to Bloober’s style, the game will be a psychological thriller set in the Star Trek universe.

Recent Star Trek games are starting to explore the horror genre, which is a new approach. However, a large-scale action-adventure Star Trek game is still a very appealing idea, and with Bloober Team developing it, expectations are high. Whether you enjoy horror with your space exploration will determine if this is the most or least interesting Star Trek project coming out in the next year. It’s a bold new direction for the franchise that has the potential to be very successful.
