K-dramas are incredibly popular right now, largely because of streaming services like Netflix. In 2026, we can expect even more Korean shows and movies to be released. Netflix has been committed to bringing K-dramas to a wider audience for ten years, offering both already-popular titles and original productions. This dedication has resonated with viewers around the world, and K-dramas are consistently among the most-watched shows on the platform.
In 2026, Netflix will continue to be the leading platform for Korean dramas, offering a wide variety of new shows. They have exciting projects planned in all kinds of genres, including romantic comedies, scary horror, fantastical adventures, and realistic crime dramas – meaning there will be a K-drama on Netflix for every viewer.
Can This Love Be Translated?
Released January 16
As a total K-drama fan, I was so excited when Netflix released Can This Love Be Translated on January 16th – it’s the first of their 2026 lineup! The show has a really interesting setup: it centers around Cha Mu-hee, played by Go Youn-jung, a rising star who finds herself on a travel dating show with a handsome Japanese actor.
Okay, so the movie throws a curveball – instead of falling for her co-star, our leading lady finds herself drawn to the interpreter, Joo Ho-jin, played by Kim Seon-ho. It’s a sweet connection, and they jet off around the world, but things quickly get complicated. Just when you think it’s a simple romance, this really unsettling character, Do Ra-mi, appears, and it’s clear she represents some deep, hidden issues within the actress’s own mind. It adds a whole layer of psychological tension to what started as a charming love story.
No Tail To Tell
Released January 16
Many Korean dramas feature the gumiho, a mythical nine-tailed fox, but No Tail to Tell offers a fresh perspective. Kim Hye-yoon stars as Eun-ho, a gumiho who actively chooses not to earn good deeds and become human.
Despite her comfortable life, everything changes when Eun-ho’s plans unexpectedly impact the career of soccer star Kang Si-yeol (Lomon). To get his life back on track, Si-yeol must confront a legendary creature. At the same time, Eun-ho struggles to fulfill her duties as a divine being, or she risks losing her powers permanently.
Undercover Miss Hong
Released January 17
The drama Undercover Miss Hong follows Hong Keum-bo, a financial agent in her thirties played by Park Shin-hye, who goes deep undercover to expose corruption at Hanmin Securities. To convincingly play the role, she disguises herself as a young woman in her twenties.
Beyond being a captivating K-drama about leading a double life, Undercover Miss Hong throws in a funny complication: the new CEO of Hanmin is Keum-bo’s ex-boyfriend, putting her job at risk. This workplace comedy is a hilarious and unconventional secret mission that will be released weekly until March 2026.
The Art Of Sarah
Releasing February 13
I just started watching The Art of Sarah, and it’s really grabbed me! It centers around Sarah Kim, played by Shin Hye-sun, who appears to be this incredibly glamorous socialite. But things quickly get twisted when a detective, Park Mu-gyeong (Lee Joon-hyuk), finds a body that everyone believes is her. It seems like her perfect life is built on a lot of secrets, and the mystery is already unfolding!
As the investigation continues, it’s becoming increasingly obvious how far Sarah went with her lies – including how she built her wealth and created a completely convincing false identity. This elaborate disguise is essentially the core of who she pretended to be – the very foundation of her persona as Sarah Kim.
Boyfriend On Demand
Releasing Q1 2026
I’ve noticed a lot of K-dramas are based on webtoons these days, but Boyfriend on Demand is different. It doesn’t just adapt a webtoon – the world of webtoons is actually a big part of the story! It follows Seo Mi-rae, played by Jisoo, who actually makes webtoons, so it’s really cool seeing that world from her perspective.
Mi-rae was exhausted from her stressful job, so she started using a virtual dating app to relax. Surprisingly, she found real connection and even fell in love, despite knowing her relationships were with virtual characters.
Bloodhounds Season 2
Releasing Q2 2026
The TV show Bloodhounds quickly became a hit after it first aired in 2023, and fans have been eagerly waiting for season two, which will be released in 2026. The series follows Kim Geon-woo (played by Woo Do-hwan), a boxer who decides to fight for justice when loan sharks harm his mother.
Fans loved the first season of Bloodhounds, and the upcoming second season promises even more thrilling action as the heroes continue their fight against the corrupt Smile Capital.
If Wishes Could Kill
Releasing Q2 2026
Netflix is known for its great horror K-dramas, and its new series, If Wishes Could Kill, is breaking new ground by focusing on the young adult audience. The story centers around a group of high school students who get caught in a dangerous situation after downloading an app named Girigo.
Students are using an app to make wishes, not realizing it’s actually granting the most violent ones. As people around them start dying, a few students must fight to survive and escape a deadly fate.
Notes From The Last Row
Releasing Q2 2026
Based on the Spanish play “El chico de la última fila,” Notes from the Last Row centers on the complex connection between Professor Heo Mun-ho (Choi Min-sik) and his talented new student, Lee Kang (Choi Hyun-wook).
Mun-ho becomes deeply invested in Lee Kang’s writing, hoping to improve the younger man’s skills and recapture his own lost dreams as a writer. However, their mentor-student connection quickly becomes complicated.
Sold Out On You
Releasing Q2 2026
Following the success of his hit drama KPop Demon Hunters, Ahn Hyo-seop is returning to K-dramas in 2026 with the romantic comedy Sold Out On You. He’ll play Matthew Lee, who owns a farm growing specialty ingredients, including a particularly prized type of mushroom.
Meanwhile, Dam Ye-ji, a popular home shopping host played by Chae Won-bin, can’t sleep. She keeps running into Matthew, and he becomes determined to get his hands on the rare white flower mushrooms she knows about.
Teach You a Lesson
Releasing Q2 2026
Most school-based K-dramas focus on sweet romances or students pursuing their goals, but “Teach You a Lesson” is taking a different approach. The drama, which is based on the webtoon “Get Schooled,” centers around Na Hwa-jin (played by Kim Mu-yeol), a supervisor at the Educational Rights Protection Agency, and his efforts to improve a school.
What sets the ERPA apart from most rule disputes is its permission to use extreme methods – including force and psychological tactics – to discipline students and staff, supposedly to bring things back under control.
