When it first came out in 2005, Ben 10 quickly became incredibly popular because of its imaginative backstory. The concept of a hero who could turn into different aliens really resonated with audiences. Throughout the series, the aliens featured in Ben 10: Alien Force are consistently the most beloved by fans.
Each of Ben’s alien forms has special abilities that have proven useful in many situations. Over the years, he’s found a way to utilize all of them effectively, though some are more powerful and memorable than others. With the return of Ben 10 in a new comic book series from Dynamite Comics, fans are excited to see which of these amazing heroes will show up.
Spidermonkey Has Too Many Abilities
Spidermonkey is clearly inspired by Spider-Man, sharing a similar personality and abilities. Like his famous counterpart, he can shoot webs, cling to surfaces, and is incredibly strong and quick. While he doesn’t excel in any one area, he’s remarkably well-rounded.
Spidermonkey is a skilled fighter with impressive speed and agility. However, he’s a bit of a generalist, which isn’t very helpful when competing with so many specialized aliens. This lack of a standout skill ultimately limits his overall usefulness, making him the weakest alien in Ben 10: Alien Force.
Brainstorm Is Too Smart For His Own Good
Brainstorm lives up to his name – he’s incredibly intelligent. His brain can solve complex problems almost instantly, far exceeding the capabilities of even the most advanced supercomputers. Beyond his strategic thinking, Brainstorm also possesses impressive electrical and telekinetic powers.
Brainstorm is incredibly powerful, but that power comes with some significant downsides. He’s often aware of his own intelligence and tends to boast about it. He also sometimes makes simple tasks much harder than they need to be, or even forgets them altogether, which can make him more of a problem than a help when he’s working with the team. Ultimately, Ben would be better off relying on other options.
Jetray Is Fast & Incredibly Strong
Jetray is one of the aliens Ben uses most often, both for fighting and getting around. He can fire powerful laser beams called “neuroshocks” from his eyes and tail, which are said to disrupt an opponent’s nervous system and cause a lot of destruction. He’s also demonstrated the incredible ability to travel through hyperspace.
Jetray is definitely a powerful alien, but he doesn’t quite stand out like some of Ben’s others. His design is straightforward and he relies heavily on just one ability, which makes transforming into Jetray sometimes feel like just another option among many. However, his incredible speed allows Ben to travel quickly and effortlessly.
Alien X Is A Mighty Reality Warper
Alien X is the strongest alien Ben 10 can transform into with the Omnitrix. He’s incredibly powerful and can do almost anything, but only if Ben, Serena, and Bellicus all agree. This is extremely difficult because Serena and Bellicus have completely different personalities and rarely see eye to eye. Beyond his immense power, Alien X can also control minds, deflect energy attacks, move objects with his mind, teleport, change shape, heal quickly, levitate, and fly.
Alien X is a significant figure in the Ben 10 series due to his impact on the show’s universe, though his transformation isn’t always impressive. Ben Tennyson himself decided to stop using Alien X after a single episode, “X = Ben + 2,” from the first season of Ben 10: Alien Force. Alien X didn’t reappear until Ben 10: Omniverse, where his abilities were much more effective.
Goop Is Strange But Surprisingly Powerful In His Own Right
Goop is a slimy alien creature that’s incredibly durable. He can dissolve into acid and even fly thanks to a special device that also lets him change shape. It’s often unclear if Goop himself is the alien, or if the alien controls the device.
Goop’s antigravity projector, while powerful, can be unreliable and confusing – it sometimes shuts off for no apparent reason, and Goop is very vulnerable without it. These quirks are noticeable, but Goop himself is quite strong and can even change how dense he is, becoming fluid enough to break metal.
Humungousaur Is Simple But Effective For Heavy Combat
From Alien Force on, Ben frequently used Humungousaur in tough battles. Humungousaur’s ability is straightforward: he can grow from 12 feet tall all the way up to 60 feet. When he reaches his maximum size, he gains extra armor, making him even more durable.
Humungousaur is generally a useful alien, but could have been even better with a bit more depth. Strangely, his most distinctive ability – growing to enormous sizes – wasn’t used very often. While he’s certainly strong, other aliens from Alien Force are more deserving of a higher ranking.
Echo Echo Is A Total Powerhouse Despite His Small Size
Echo Echo is tiny, but don’t let his size fool you – he’s incredibly powerful. He can generate incredibly loud sonic screams that are strong enough to shatter even steel. What’s more, he can project these attacks through speakers, letting him strike from a distance.
Echo Echo has the ability to create an unlimited number of copies of himself, ensuring his survival even if many are destroyed – he’s even prepared, keeping an extra clone in his car! This power appears to have no weaknesses or limits, letting him defeat opponents by simply overwhelming them with numbers and executing powerful, coordinated attacks.
Big Chill Has A Unique Set of Abilities
Big Chill from Ben 10 is a powerful alien with incredible abilities. He can fly, become invisible and pass through objects, and control ice in many ways. He often uses ice breath, but can also create ice structures and fire ice beams. He can even combine all his powers to freeze enemies while phasing through them, and he’s able to survive in extremely cold and harsh conditions.
Perhaps most impressively, Big Chill can lower the temperature around him to absolute zero—the coldest temperature possible. This makes him a remarkably helpful alien in Alien Force, and his spooky appearance perfectly suits his powers. While some fans weren’t thrilled with his updated look in Omniverse, he’s consistently been a fan-favorite character.
Chromastone Is Exceedingly Powerful And Elusive
Chromastone is one of the alien powers Ben Tennyson can transform into, and his backstory is tied to the planet Petropia, which is also Diamondhead’s home. He was introduced in the third season of Alien Force. Chromastone’s body is made of crystal, making him incredibly tough. He can also absorb energy of almost any kind and release it as powerful laser blasts.
Chromastone has an incredible ability to absorb energy – he can take in mana, ultraviolet light, lasers, electromagnetic radiation, electricity, and even cosmic rays. While this discovery created some complications, it’s a major boost to his already impressive fighting skills. He’s definitely one of Ben’s most powerful aliens, even though Ben didn’t fully explore everything Chromastone could do.
Swampfire Is An Awesome Mix Of The Best Ben 10 Powers
In the first part of “Ben 10 Returns,” Swampfire is the initial alien Ben transforms into after the Omnitrix resets. Many fans consider him the best alien in Alien Force. Swampfire’s powers include controlling plants (chlorokinesis) and creating flammable methane gas. He can also communicate with plants telepathically, making him a well-rounded and adaptable fighter.
Swampfire can also create large amounts of methane, a highly flammable gas he uses for fire-based attacks. His abilities feel both new and reminiscent of Wildvine and Heatblast from the original series, striking a nice balance between familiarity and innovation. This blend of established powers contributed to Swampfire’s appeal.
