As a huge movie fan, I’m already counting down the days to 2026! It’s shaping up to be an incredible year for franchises. Of course, everyone’s talking about the new Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday. It’s going to be amazing to see Robert Downey Jr. back as a key player – I haven’t seen him in a Marvel role since 2019! And with Anthony Mackie, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Stewart, and Pedro Pascal joining the cast, it’s packed with stars. But honestly, even with that incredible lineup, I don’t think Doomsday has the best cast of the year guaranteed. Toy Story 5 is bringing back all our favorites, plus some new characters, and The Mandalorian & Grogu is adding some serious talent to the Star Wars universe. It’s going to be a tough competition!
Keep an eye on Illumination’s new animated movie – a sequel to the Super Mario film! This time, Mario and his crew are heading into space to battle a new enemy. Here’s a list of the main characters from the Mario games who will be in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, along with the actors who voice them.
8) Chris Pratt as Mario
Chris Pratt faced criticism when he was chosen to play Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but he’s proving he can handle the role. A new trailer for the film shows Mario isn’t fooled by Bowser’s tricks and knows he’s causing trouble. That’s why Mario is prepared to fight when a new enemy attempts to release Bowser from captivity.
7) Charlie Day as Luigi
Mario tends to focus on the negative side of people, while Luigi always looks for the best in them. Charlie Day’s character is excited about the new Bowser and eager to enjoy the experience. However, things quickly turn serious when Luigi and Mario are suddenly attacked.
6) Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach
I’m really excited about the new Super Mario Bros. movie because Princess Peach isn’t just waiting to be rescued anymore! She’s a total badass who fights for herself, and it looks like that’s going to continue in Super Mario Galaxy. From the trailer, Anya Taylor-Joy sounds amazing as Peach, and she’s definitely going to bring that same energy – kicking butt and taking names, just like in the movie!
5) Jack Black as Bowser
In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Bowser, Mario’s enemy, is soundly defeated, losing Princess Peach and shrinking down to a very small size. Though some are trying to help him escape, it’s unclear if Jack Black’s portrayal of Bowser will have a significant role in future events.
4) Keegan Michael-Key as Toad
As a huge Mario fan, I always love seeing who joins him on his adventures! Toad is always there as a loyal friend, and it’s awesome to see him really stepping up to protect the Mushroom Kingdom while Mario’s off in space. It seems like Keegan-Michael Key’s version of Toad is going to be hilarious while keeping everything safe back home – definitely a big responsibility, and I can’t wait to see how he handles it!
3) Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek
Bowser has a trusted advisor named Kamek, who appears with him in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. In Super Mario Galaxy, Kamek proves his loyalty again by attempting to rescue Bowser and help him conquer the galaxy. Kevin Michael Richardson, a well-known voice actor, returns to play Kamek in the sequel.
2) Brie Larson as Rosalina
Rosalina is a new character introduced in Super Mario Galaxy. She lives in the Comet Observatory and cares for the Lumas. Brie Larson, famous for her role as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, provides the voice for Rosalina’s story segments. This gives Larson another opportunity to play a heroic character who loves exploring space.
1) Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr. is more upset about his father’s defeat than Bowser himself. In the trailer for Super Mario Galaxy, he ambushes Mario and Luigi, determined to find his dad. He doesn’t stop there, eventually targeting the Comet Observatory. Actor Benny Safdie, known for his role in Oppenheimer, voices the intimidating prince.
