Every Marvel & DC TV Show Releasing in 2026, Ranked by Our Anticipation

In 2026, both Marvel and DC will be focusing heavily on television series, with most of the shows coming from Marvel. While DC only has one property planned for its DCU, the rest will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or animated Marvel shows. Both companies are only releasing two films that year—Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday for Marvel, and Supergirl and Clayface for DC. To supplement these films, DCU will introduce a key team on HBO Max, and Marvel will continue to expand its collection of stories on Disney+.

Looking ahead to 2026, both Marvel and DC are planning exciting new shows – from gritty, street-level stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the introduction of cosmic law enforcement in the DC Universe. Here’s a ranked list of the best ones coming soon.

8) Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

The first season of Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was a delightful show for the whole family, and it was great seeing cameos from heroes outside of Spider-Man’s usual circle. Because the show took place on an alternate Earth, it offered fresh takes on familiar characters, leading to some surprising and enjoyable worldbuilding. The second season has the potential to build on this success by further developing Tombstone as a villain and giving Nico Minoru a larger role. While it should be just as good as the first season, it’s more of a fun bonus for fans rather than essential viewing.

7) Wonder Man

The release of Wonder Man has been delayed multiple times, suggesting Marvel Studios might not be very confident in it, which is a letdown for fans. Thankfully, the latest trailers reveal that this version of Simon Williams actually has superpowers, staying true to the comic books – earlier previews made it appear he was just playing a role. The series also seems to be continuing the MCU’s issues with Damage Control and superhero regulation, a storyline that could connect to the upcoming Doomsday film. While it’s great to see Trevor Slattery back, Wonder Man feels like the least essential of Marvel’s 2026 projects.

6) Spider-Noir

Marvel’s upcoming animated series, Spider-Noir, will be available on Prime Video in 2026 and exists completely separate from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. Think of it as its own unique story! While other Marvel shows like Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Wonder Man connect to the larger MCU, Spider-Noir stands alone. But that’s not a bad thing! There are a couple of really cool reasons to check it out: Nicolas Cage is reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir from Across the Spider-Verse, and like Werewolf by Night, you’ll be able to watch it in classic black and white or color. The black and white version, in particular, promises to be amazing thanks to the show’s noir style. You don’t need to have watched any other Marvel shows to enjoy it, but it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

5) Punisher

The upcoming series Punisher, scheduled for release in 2026, will be connected to the Daredevil: Born Again storyline. It may also have links to Spider-Man: Brand New Day due to a shared character appearance. While it continues the story from the previous Punisher Netflix series (which lasted two seasons), it probably won’t focus heavily on those earlier episodes. Instead, the new series will likely follow Frank Castle as he escapes from Kingpin’s prison and begins his quest for revenge. Similar to Werewolf by Night, this is intended as a standalone Special Presentation, likely consisting of a single episode.

4) VisionQuest

After several delays, the Disney+ series VisionQuest is now scheduled to premiere in 2026. It’s particularly anticipated because it concludes the story arc begun with WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along. The show will finally explain what happened to Vision after the events of WandaVision, and will also feature the return of Ultron. The plot will involve Wiccan’s search for his brother, guided by the spirit of Agatha Harkness, and will hopefully resolve the fate of Scarlet Witch, potentially bringing her back and giving her a conclusive story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

3) X-Men ’97 Season 2

There’s a lot of anticipation for X-Men ’97 Season 2, but some fans are cautiously optimistic. The change in leadership—original showrunner Beau DeMayo was removed from the project—has lowered expectations for some. Viewers are worried the new team might not prioritize the important social themes that made the first season so compelling. Still, if the show maintains its high quality, the first season proves this X-Men revival has the potential to be the best Marvel series on Disney+.

2) Lanterns

In 2026, a single DC Universe television series, Lanterns, is planned for release, and it promises to be exciting. Set to premiere around the middle of the year, the show will introduce viewers to the Green Lantern Corps. It will feature Hal Jordan as an experienced Lantern and John Stewart as his new apprentice. With appearances from characters like Guy Gardner and Sinestro, Lanterns is expected to be a strong addition to James Gunn’s DCU, potentially setting up a larger role for the Lanterns in future stories.

1) Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Marvel and DC fans are most excited for the return of Daredevil: Born Again with its second season. The first season featured major developments – Kingpin becoming mayor and assembling a corrupt police force to target vigilantes – which felt strikingly relevant to real-world issues. This made the show incredibly gripping and solidified Daredevil’s place as a top Marvel TV hero. The new season will bring back Jessica Jones and continue Daredevil’s battle with Kingpin, making it essential viewing for Marvel fans.
