With the release of Avengers: Doomsday approaching, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been using post-credit scenes to hint at what’s to come. The MCU became hugely successful with its Infinity Saga, captivating audiences with its complex stories. While the shift towards exploring the Multiverse had some challenges, the franchise is now gearing up for a grand finale in two parts: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. As Doomsday is less than a year away, the MCU is actively setting the stage for the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
Post-credits scenes in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films have become essential for revealing future storylines. These short clips give fans clues about what’s coming next, including the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. Recent films in Phases 5 and 6 have been building towards Doomsday‘s story, and several post-credits scenes clearly foreshadow events in the new film.
5) Captain America: Brave New World (2025)

With Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson officially took on the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film featured the debut of Red Hulk and the return of the Leader, signaling its importance in shaping the MCU’s future. While some viewers thought the movie didn’t fully utilize its new characters, the scene after the credits hinted at what’s to come in Avengers: Doomsday.
The movie ends with a scene of Sam Wilson (the new Captain America) visiting the Leader while he’s imprisoned on the Raft. The Leader warns Sam about an upcoming attack from different worlds and proposes they team up, since they both come from the same Earth. This scene strongly hints at the multiversal conflict that will be a major part of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday story.
4) Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

One of the most intriguing unanswered questions after the movie Endgame came at the end of 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film introduced Shang-Chi and the powerful Ten Rings, which were wielded by his father. After Shang-Chi obtains the Rings, a post-credits scene shows him consulting with other Marvel heroes, hinting at a future storyline that hasn’t been explored yet.
The post-credits scene in Shang-Chi links the hero to Captain Marvel, Bruce Banner, and Wong, clearly connecting him to the remaining Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This suggests Shang-Chi will join the team in future stories, possibly including Doomsday. It also shows that even though we haven’t seen much of these heroes lately, they are still in communication. While the movie doesn’t fully explain the origins of the Rings just yet, the post-credits scene hints at Shang-Chi potentially appearing in Doomsday, and the full story of the Rings will likely be revealed in a future Shang-Chi sequel.
3) Thunderbolts* (2025)

Thunderbolts was the MCU’s first team-up movie in a while, gathering a group of anti-heroes to work together. The film notably introduced the Sentry and advanced the overall storyline of the franchise. Importantly, Thunderbolts laid the groundwork for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, most clearly through its scene after the credits.
The movie’s end-credits scene revealed that the team, now known as the New Avengers, has been given the responsibility of protecting Earth. This is interrupted by the unexpected arrival of the Fantastic Four’s ship, signaling that they’ve entered the main Marvel Cinematic Universe from another reality. This sets them up to play a significant role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, clearly laying the groundwork for what’s to come.
2) The Marvels (2023)

I know The Marvels didn’t get as much buzz as some of the other Marvel movies after Endgame, but I think it’s really important for what’s happening with the Multiverse Saga. The story dealt with a big, cosmic danger tied to Ms. Marvel’s powers, and it actually ripped a hole in the very fabric of the MCU’s reality! At the end, Monica Rambeau managed to close the tear, but she got stuck on the other side, which is a huge cliffhanger and sets things up for what comes next.
The post-credits scene in The Marvels revealed where Monica ended up and cleverly teased the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. She wakes up on a strange ship and meets Beast, played by Kelsey Grammer, confirming she’s traveled to a different reality. This scene strongly hints at the X-Men appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, making it an important moment to understand before the film comes out in 2026.
1) Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

For years, fans eagerly awaited The Fantastic Four: First Steps, especially as it marked the official introduction of the team to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Their confrontation with the incredibly powerful Galactus was a suitably grand entrance. But the movie’s biggest impact on the MCU’s future actually comes from what happens after the credits roll.
The post-credits scene features Sue Storm with her son, Franklin Richards, but when she returns, she finds him with a mysterious hooded figure holding a metal mask – clearly Doctor Doom. This moment suggests Doom is interested in Franklin or the Fantastic Four and is a key setup for future events, particularly Avengers: Doomsday, and hints at the main villain of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
