Every MCU Spider-Man Costume, Ranked From Worst to Best

Since joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, has had several different costumes. He first appeared in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, about eight years after the MCU began, and has since starred in three solo films and two major Avengers movies. Another solo movie is planned for release in the summer of 2026. Throughout these appearances, Spider-Man’s outfits have varied in style and quality.

Spider-Man’s movie costumes have varied – some closely resemble his comic book look, while others are original designs created for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Throughout his time in the MCU, Spider-Man has worn everything from high-tech suits to simpler ones, and each has contributed to his overall look. Here’s a ranking of every unique costume he’s worn in the MCU so far, from least to most impressive.

10) Homemade Costume

The most unflattering Spider-Man costume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is definitely his original, homemade one. Featured prominently in Spider-Man: Homecoming – especially when Tony Stark takes away his advanced suit from Civil War – this costume was Peter Parker’s first attempt at a disguise while learning to be a hero. It’s a visibly cheap and simple design, and even characters within the movies poke fun at it, making it the worst Spider-Man costume we’ve seen in the MCU.

9) Red & Black Costume

The red and black suit Spider-Man wears at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home is hard to rank because whether it’s good or not really comes down to personal opinion. It’s designed like his original Stark suit, but with black instead of blue. While it doesn’t look bad, it might be missing some of what makes Spider-Man’s costumes special, possibly because it doesn’t include the classic blue color we usually see.

8) New Homemade Suit

As a big Spider-Man fan, I’m still trying to get a good look at that new homemade suit! We only caught quick glimpses of it in the MCU, especially at the end of No Way Home, which makes it tough to really form an opinion. It feels like they went for a more comic-book accurate design rather than trying to reinvent things, but honestly, it was on screen for such a short time. It definitely looks like one of his classic costumes, but whether it’ll end up being one of the best or worst Spider-Man suits we’ve seen in the movies is still up in the air, at least for me. I’m hoping Brand New Day gives us a longer, better look!

7) Night Monkey Suit

The Night Monkey suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home was another departure from Spider-Man’s traditional comic book costume. Created to hide his identity, the suit has a sleek, armored, tactical design unlike most of his other outfits. Though visually interesting, it doesn’t quite fit Spider-Man’s personality, coming across as too dark and intimidating for the MCU version of the character.

6) Inside-Out Suit

Spider-Man had a short-lived but striking costume in the MCU: the inside-out suit. It wasn’t a completely new design, but rather the reversed lining of his damaged suit from No Way Home. This stripped-down, tech-focused look was memorable, appearing in just one action scene before he changed again. Many fans also appreciated how the suit subtly referenced Spider-Man’s iconic black symbiote suit, adding to its appeal. Its innovative design and clever integration into the film made it stand out.

5) Iron Spider Suit

The Iron Spider suit is arguably the most iconic of the Stark suits worn by Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Featured prominently in the fight against Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the suit’s red and blue color scheme is highlighted by stylish gold accents and extra, spider-like legs. It’s a fantastic tribute to the comic book version and boasts impressive nanotech that comes in very useful. Although it occasionally feels a bit too powerful, it remains one of the best Spider-Man suits visually in the MCU.

4) Integrated Suit

In the climactic battle of No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man wears a special suit called the Integrated suit. It’s a mix of his previous costumes – combining parts of the Iron Spider suit with his original Stark suit, and adding some black accents. This design cleverly blends all the suits he’s worn throughout his solo movies, making him visually distinct even alongside the other two Spider-Men.

3) Stark Suit

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man suit in Spider-Man: Homecoming is arguably his best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a sleek, high-tech design that highlights his connection to Tony Stark and firmly establishes him within the MCU. While staying true to Spider-Man’s classic red and blue color scheme, the suit features unique details that set it apart. Despite some initial fan criticism of the added technology, it remains a standout look for the character.

2) Tobey Maguire Suit

For a lot of Spider-Man fans, Sam Raimi’s movies remain the best superhero adaptations Marvel has produced. Tobey Maguire returned as Spider-Man in No Way Home, bringing his original costume with him. Though the main MCU Spider-Man didn’t wear it, Maguire’s suit is still fantastic. Its bold web pattern and classic red and blue colors are instantly recognizable, and it also brings a welcome sense of nostalgia.

1) Andrew Garfield Suit

Okay, let’s talk Spider-Man suits. Honestly, the best one we’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t belong to Peter Parker as we know him. It’s Andrew Garfield, back as his Amazing Spider-Man version, who steals the show. His suit takes everything great about Tobey Maguire’s classic design and just…improves it. Seriously, those white eye-pieces? They’re the perfect addition. It’s the most faithful to the comics and the best-looking Spider-Man suit we’ve gotten in the MCU, hands down.
