HBO Max will be adding several new shows next month, including fresh episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry and The Chair Company, which debuted in October. Also coming soon are the new comedy series I Love LA, starring Rachel Sennott, and the French drama The Seduction.

I just finished watching Alex vs ARod on HBO, and it’s a fascinating, if uncomfortable, look at the rise and fall of Alex Rodriguez. The documentary doesn’t shy away from the controversies that plagued his career, particularly his suspension for using performance-enhancing drugs. What’s really compelling is that it’s told largely through Rodriguez’s own words, giving us a very personal and often conflicted portrait of a truly polarizing figure in baseball. It really digs into the contradictions within him, making for a gripping watch.
November 7th
Here’s a look at some popular TV shows: Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (Food Network, Season 52), Let’s Go Bananas (Cartoon Network, Season 1B), Maine Cabin Masters (Magnolia Network, Season 11), and The Vallecas Files (an HBO Original).
In the film Materialists, a driven matchmaker in New York City faces a dilemma when she starts questioning whether her ideal partner is actually her ex-boyfriend.

Gold Rush, Season 16 (Discovery)
November 9th
Build for Off-Road, Season 2 (Motortrend)
November 10th
I recently watched two really compelling shows. First, CNN’s Bad Sports with Anderson Cooper – it’s a deep dive into the moments when fan passion unfortunately turns dangerous. Then, I got totally hooked on Sweet Empire: Winter Wars on Food Network – Season 1 was a real treat! Both were fascinating in their own ways.
November 12th
Here’s a quick rundown of recent TV shows: Season 41 of Beat Bobby Flay on Food Network, Season 1 of Hoarding for the Holidays on HGTV, and Season 13 of Homestead Rescue on Discovery.

November 14th
Silly Sundays, Season 1D (Cartoon Network)
I recently watched Eddington from A24, and it really got under my skin. It’s set in a small New Mexico town and centers around a tense situation in May 2020 where a disagreement between the sheriff and the mayor quickly escalates. It’s amazing how fast things fall apart, and it shows how easily neighbors can turn against each other when tensions rise.
HBO’s One to One: John & Yoko offers a unique and revealing look at John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s first year living in New York City in the early 1970s. The film is an immersive experience, showcasing a period of intense creativity and their passionate political activism.
HBO’s The Seduction tells the story of Marquise de Merteuil, who seeks revenge on a former lover by becoming the most sought-after courtesan in Paris. Inspired by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, the series is a captivating look at the cost of independence – both emotionally and sexually – for women in a restrictive society.
November 15th
The Last Woodsmen, Season 2 (Discovery)
November 18th
Gingerbread Land: The Biggest Little Holiday Competition, Season 1 (Magnolia Network)
Thoughts & Prayers (an HBO Original) is a film that explores the $3 billion industry built around preparing for active shooter events. It looks at how these preparations impact students and teachers, and raises questions about whether they’re actually helpful – or if they create unintended problems. The film is both strangely funny and deeply disturbing.
