Every New Game Coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in December 2025, Ranked

Each month, PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium adds new games, and December 2025 is no different. This month’s selection leans a bit more towards role-playing games and titles geared towards younger players. Luckily, there’s a good variety of RPGs to choose from. Plus, the inclusion of family-friendly games makes the service appealing to a wider audience, not just those focused on completing every challenge and earning trophies.

Here’s a look at the 10 new PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games coming in December 2025. Skate Story was added on December 8th, and the remaining games will be available starting December 16th.

10) Paw Patrol World

Several Paw Patrol games are available on PlayStation Plus and World offers the most freedom yet. However, it’s still designed with very young children in mind, offering simple gameplay that’s perfect for those new to collecting games or video games in general.

9) Paw Patrol: Grand Prix

Paw Patrol: Grand Prix is similar to other Paw Patrol games aimed at very young players. While it’s at least a kart racing game – a genre with less competition – it still doesn’t excuse the fact that it feels incredibly slow while you’re playing.

8) LEGO Horizon Adventures

LEGO Horizon Adventures reimagines the story of the original Horizon game, but unfortunately, much of what made that game special is missing. While simplifying things isn’t necessarily a bad idea, it doesn’t really add anything significant to the experience. The combat feels less engaging without precise aiming and targeting, and the straightforward levels aren’t as fun to explore as the open world of Zero Dawn. Although the game aims for a lighter tone, the constant stream of weak jokes detracts from the story’s emotional impact. It’s not a terrible game, but it doesn’t reach the heights of either other LEGO titles or the main Horizon series.

7) Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage shines with its stunning recreation of ninth-century Baghdad, filled with beautiful details like intricate rugs and bustling streets. Unfortunately, almost everything else feels disappointing. The story doesn’t quite come together, despite having a promising foundation in Basim’s early life. Even after updates, the parkour is frustrating, and the combat and stealth feel too similar to previous games. While Ubisoft simplified the RPG elements, this actually highlights how empty the core gameplay can be when not filled with engaging content.

6) Soulcalibur 3

While not as popular as the previous Soulcalibur game, Soulcalibur 3 remains a strong fighting game due to its distinctive weapon-based battles. It only offers local multiplayer, but has enough single-player content to keep players engaged. Some of the new additions, like a real-time strategy mode with a weak story, are short-lived, but the core gameplay is excellent. With no new Soulcalibur games released since 2018, revisiting this older title feels fresh and interesting.

5) Planet Coaster 2

Planet Coaster 2 is a specialized game – you build and manage a theme park – but it excels at what it does. It offers tons of customization, and the addition of water slides and pools really expands the possibilities. While all these options can sometimes make the game overly complicated, especially when using a controller, the extra features are still a positive overall.

4) Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Granblue Fantasy: Relink successfully brings the popular mobile game series to consoles. The game’s fast-paced action RPG combat is reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts, with flashy visuals and plenty of quick attacks – though it’s generally not very challenging. A key feature of Relink is the ability to switch between multiple characters, which keeps the gameplay fresh. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, its vibrant art style, over-the-top combat, and reasonable length (around 15-30 hours to complete) make it a standout title.

3) Cat Quest 3

Okay, so at first glance, the Cat Quest games look like they’re just in on the joke, but honestly, they’re really good RPGs. This new one leans into a pirate theme, and adding naval combat and exploration really opens things up. But the best part is, it still keeps what makes these games special – they’re not overly complicated. You’ve got your typical melee combat and RPG stuff, but it’s not bogged down by all the extra fluff you see in a lot of RPGs these days. Leveling up is pretty fast, and you can actually beat the main story in about six hours. If you want to do everything, it’ll take around twelve. It’s a nice, focused game that’s perfect for when you only have a little time to play, which is a huge relief when so many RPGs demand a massive time commitment.

2) Skate Story

Skate Story is a standout new game that’s much more than just a skateboarding simulator. You play as a fragile, glass character who skates through the levels of hell with a bizarre mission: to eat moons! The game is wonderfully strange, filled with poetic, random moments, talking trash cans, and even Satan’s laundry. The skateboarding controls might feel different if you’re used to games like Skate or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but they work well enough to support the incredibly unique and worthwhile story.

1) Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty builds on the gameplay Team Ninja established with the original Nioh, and the result is largely successful. While the game unfortunately overemphasizes collecting unimportant items and features somewhat uninspired environments, it delivers incredibly precise and satisfying combat – some of the best you’ll find in action games.

This game feels more like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice than Dark Souls, focusing heavily on perfectly timed parries. These parries also act as dodges, letting you deflect attacks with quick reactions. The timing is challenging but fair, making it satisfying to block a series of attacks and then strike back powerfully. Wo Long is also relatively easy for a Team Ninja title, which can be a bit frustrating, as this is often due to helpful AI companions drawing enemy attention. However, the smooth and responsive combat is the game’s biggest strength, and that’s what really makes Wo Long a successful Soulslike.
