With November here, get ready for a wave of Christmas movies and shows on streaming services! Netflix is joining in with several new holiday originals, including some classic romantic comedies. But if you’re not quite in the holiday spirit yet, November also offers plenty of other new releases and the return of a popular show, making it the perfect time to cozy up indoors.
Here’s a list of the new movies and TV shows coming to Netflix in November 2025 that you won’t want to miss. We’ve included everything new, along with when each title will be available to stream.
‘Death by Lightning’ (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix on November 6
History enthusiasts and drama lovers will enjoy Death by Lightning, a series telling the incredible story of President James A. Garfield. It follows his journey from humble beginnings to the White House and details the shocking events surrounding his assassination by Charles J. Guiteau. The series stars Michael Shannon as Garfield and Matthew Macfadyen as Guiteau, and comes from Mike Makowsky, the creator known for the popular Netflix show Beef.
Inspired by Candice Millard’s book Destiny of the Republic, Death by Lightning is a new limited series that combines political intrigue, true crime, and a look at the life of a largely overlooked president. The show centers on a story of corruption and is expected to appeal to a broad audience. With a fantastic cast, led by Michael Shannon, and a high-quality visual presentation, it promises to be a compelling watch. Death by Lightning will begin streaming on Netflix on November 6, 2025.
‘Frankenstein’
Coming to Netflix on November 7
As a huge fan of classic horror, I’m really excited about the upcoming Frankenstein movie slated for 2025! While they’re keeping most of the plot details under wraps, just the idea of seeing a fresh take on the Frankenstein story is awesome. And the cast? Seriously impressive! Oscar Isaac is taking on the role of Dr. Victor Frankenstein, and Jacob Elordi will be playing the monster. It’s going to be great to see these iconic characters brought to life again, especially on a major streaming platform.
The biggest reason people are excited about this project is Guillermo del Toro – he’s directing and writing it. Many consider him the most creative filmmaker working in dark fantasy today, and this is his third original film for Netflix. He previously wrote Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans and beautifully reimagined Pinocchio in 2022. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long – Frankenstein will be available to stream on Netflix starting November 7, 2025.
‘The Beast in Me’ (Limited Series)
Coming to Netflix on November 13
In “The Beast in Me,” celebrated author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) isolates herself after her husband dies, struggling with both grief and a lack of inspiration. When a new neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys) – a real estate agent with a troubled past and suspicion of murdering his wife – moves in, Aggie becomes intrigued. She starts to investigate him, hoping to overcome her writer’s block, but finds herself caught in a dangerous and suspenseful situation.
Netflix’s upcoming series, The Beast in Me, is creating a lot of excitement and looks set to be a hit when it launches. Starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, the psychological thriller benefits from the experienced showrunner Howard Gordon, known for his work on Homeland. The reunion of Danes and Gordon is a major draw for many viewers. You can start streaming The Beast in Me on November 13, 2025.
‘Train Dreams’
Coming to Netflix on November 21
Train Dreams tells the story of Robert Grainier (Joel Edgerton), a man who has spent his entire life working as a logger and railway worker in the Pacific Northwest during the early 1900s. Orphaned and forced to work from a young age, Robert builds a family with Gladys (Felicity Jones) during a prosperous time for the industry. But when tragedy occurs, shattering his dreams of a happy family, he must find a way to cope with loss and navigate a changing world.
Inspired by Denis Johnson’s celebrated novella, Train Dreams is a moving drama exploring themes of loss, family, and responsibility. Director Clint Bentley brings a beautiful, immersive style to the film, mirroring the poetic quality of the original book. Early reviews have been incredibly positive, and Netflix will release the movie in select theaters on November 7th, before it becomes available for streaming on November 21, 2025.
‘Stranger Things’ (Season 5 — Volume 1)
Coming to Netflix on November 26
Fans of Stranger Things are both excited and sad about the start of Season 5. Picking up after the events of 1987, when Hawkins was invaded by dangerous openings, this season will be the last. It’s expected to be a major topic of conversation this month, with the first four episodes becoming available on November 26th, and the complete season arriving on December 25, 2025.
