Every month, PlayStation Plus members are given fresh new games to play. To keep things interesting and encourage users to explore different titles, Sony regularly adds free games to their collection. As September approaches, Sony has unveiled the games coming to PS Plus this month. Additional games may be announced later in September for Extra and Premium subscribers, but PS Plus members will be able to play these games starting on the 2nd of September. A crucial point to remember is that the previous month’s games will no longer be available once September begins, so it’s important for members to add these titles to their library before they vanish.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m super excited to share that come September 2025, my PS Plus collection is about to expand with three amazing new additions! These games will be available for free as part of my subscription, and each one offers something unique.
First up, we have Psychonauts 2, a mind-bending adventure that’ll keep me on the edge of my seat. Next, Stardew Valley invites me to immerse myself in a peaceful farming life with a twist of strategy and role-playing. Last but not least, Viewfinder promises an action-packed, visually stunning experience that’ll make every second count.
So, mark your calendars for September 2nd, 2025, fellow gamers – let the new additions to our PS Plus libraries begin!
Psychonauts 2
In the sequel to the original cult favorite, known as Psychonauts 2, players assume the role of Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a skilled acrobat and potent psychic. This new installment promises a vibrant narrative filled with eccentric personalities. Its unique psychic abilities create an entertaining and amusing platforming experience. It’s definitely worth checking out for those who have PS Plus due to its gameplay and storyline. It appears that Double Fine’s upcoming title will also follow this trend. Psychonauts 2 received critical acclaim, boasting an impressive 87/100 aggregate score on Metacritic.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley, a standout farm simulator game, requires no introduction as it’s one of the best in the industry. Its success has sparked numerous other games in the genre. As fans impatiently wait for the next title from its creator, Haunted Chocolatier, PS Plus is set to introduce the game to a larger audience next month. Whether it’s managing crops, building relationships, or exploring mines, Stardew Valley offers something appealing to all types of players. Since its debut in 2016, the game has remained popular, likely due to frequent updates, which might explain its Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam.
Viewfinder
The intriguing puzzle game, Viewfinder, invites players to explore its world using a virtual camera and taking photos as tools for navigation. These pictures can manipulate reality, adding depth and immersion to the environment. Its innovative mechanics make it a standout in the genre, and those who were hesitant about it earlier now have a chance to experience it since Viewfinder is available on PS Plus. Released in 2023, this game enjoys high praise on Steam.
Games Leaving PS Plus in September 2025
As a fan myself, I’m excited to share that starting September 1st, some of August’s PS Plus games will be saying goodbye. We’re talking about three fantastic titles – “Lies of P”, “Day Z”, and “My Hero’s One Justice 2”. Before they bid farewell from the catalog, make sure to add them to your collection. Once downloaded, you can keep enjoying these games even after they’ve left PS Plus!
Boasting titles such as “Psychonauts 2,” “Stardew Valley,” and “Viewfinder,” Sony consistently enhances the worth of PlayStation Plus. By regularly adding top-tier games, this approach encourages players to subscribe not only for online advantages, but also for the exciting game content. Stay tuned for when the Extra and Premium games are unveiled in the near future.
PlayStation Plus offers multiple subscription tiers, each catering to different player needs:
1. The Essential tier, priced at $10 monthly, grants access to fundamental games and online services.
2. The Extra tier, costing $15 per month, enhances the experience with extra features and games.
3. Lastly, Premium – the most expensive option at $18 – offers a comprehensive suite of PS Plus benefits, including access to the classic PS Plus library, which comprises older games from various generations. This collection routinely gets updated with new additions as well. While nostalgia serves as a significant draw for this tier, it also provides an assortment of new games every month.
