As a huge MCU fan, one thing that always struck me about the Infinity Saga is how consistent it was. From the very beginning, the Infinity Stones were clearly the most powerful and important things in the universe, and the movies really stuck to that. They weren’t just plot devices, either – they actually created heroes like Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch, and that was just the start! Of course, the big bad, Thanos, wanted to collect them all to save the universe from what he saw as inevitable destruction, since his home planet had already suffered a terrible fate. But you know our heroes – they weren’t going to just stand by and let half of all life disappear, so they fought tooth and nail to stop him.
As the Multiverse Saga wraps up, Earth’s heroes will face their biggest challenge yet: Doctor Doom, who threatens the entire multiverse. While the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie won’t be able to showcase every possible reality, here’s a list of the universes confirmed to appear, ranked from most to least important.
4) Earth-10005

In Deadpool & Wolverine, we’re officially introduced to Earth-10005, which is Deadpool’s home reality. When the Time Variance Authority tries to destroy it, Deadpool takes action and teams up with a Wolverine from another universe to save it. By the end of the film, Earth-10005 is secure, now guarded by a new hero.
Although it hasn’t been officially announced, both Wade Wilson (Deadpool) and Logan (Wolverine) could appear in the upcoming Doomsday film. They might not be the only characters from Earth-10005 to join the story, either. As seen in a post-credits scene from The Marvels, Monica Rambeau found herself on a different Earth and encountered Beast from the X-Men. To simplify things for future movies, Marvel Studios might be establishing a shared living space for all mutants. This could streamline the story when Doctor Doom arrives and potentially destroys the planet, setting up a fresh start for the universe.
3) Earth-828

Earth-828, the world of the Fantastic Four, seems safe from destruction. In the comic The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the team is famous, appearing in ads and on television. They become less popular after dealing with Galactus, but regain their standing by the end. However, their peace is disrupted when a mysterious man arrives at their headquarters, the Baxter Building.
When Doom arrives on Earth-828, the Fantastic Four will have to travel across the multiverse to gather help. This means Doom probably won’t stay on Earth-828 for very long. That’s probably a good thing, since the people there don’t often deal with threats that could destroy the world, and certainly not repeatedly.
2) The End of Time

The Disney+ series Loki features a fascinating and unusual place: the headquarters of the Time Variance Authority. This organization works outside of normal time to safeguard the timeline, and it’s shrouded in mystery when Loki arrives. He teams up with Mobius and the others to unravel its secrets and ultimately plays a crucial role in preserving the entire multiverse at the very end of time.
Now that Tom Hiddleston is joining the cast of Doomsday, it’s almost certain the movie will revisit familiar territory. The story will likely involve Doctor Doom targeting the multiverse and clashing with Thor. Loki needs to be ready for a fight, because if he loses, the stakes are incredibly high – it could mean total destruction.
1) Earth-616 (Earth-199999)

Fans are confused about the official designation of the main timeline where most Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films take place. While the franchise sometimes calls it Earth-616, that number actually belongs to the primary Earth in Marvel comics. It’s also referred to as Earth-199999, but ultimately, the Sacred Timeline is the most crucial one in the story of Doomsday.
Even while traveling through alternate realities to battle Doom, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men are ultimately fighting to save Earth-199999. This universe has such a rich and established history that it’s far more significant than any other, making it the most important one to protect.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
