Although some people online are celebrating Highguard’s downfall, we’re disappointed to see yet another game fail.
So, I was really excited about Wildlight Entertainment’s new game, but honestly, things are looking pretty rough right now. They had some major layoffs last week, and it’s making me worried about the game’s future.
Yesterday morning, fans discovered the game’s website was down, and it’s still inaccessible after nearly a full day.
The game is still working, but the website is down and only displays the game’s logo with a message saying it’s ‘currently unavailable.’ There’s no information about when the website will be back up.
A new report from GameFile shows that Tencent, a major Chinese gaming company, was a key investor in the recently released first-person shooter. The game was developed by former employees of Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind popular titles like Titanfall and Apex Legends.
It’s strange that this information was hidden for so long, and it now appears the company won’t make any money from this investment.
It’s looking increasingly likely that this game is failing. While Wildlight Entertainment says they’ll keep working on it with their current team, player numbers on Steam have dropped dramatically – peaking at only 1,507 players in the last day.
While the game might be performing well on consoles, that doesn’t seem very probable. It wouldn’t be shocking if it’s removed from online platforms in the next few weeks.
