While the sequel, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, is still ongoing (with art by Atsuo Ueda), Hiro Mashima is coming back to both write and draw a brand new Fairy Tail series! It’s a celebration of the original manga’s 20th anniversary in Weekly Shonen Magazine, and they’ve already released some first details, a trailer, and a special poster. Fairy Tail Returns for New Revival Series for 20th Anniversary
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Fairy Tail is getting a new series! Creator Hiro Mashima will return to Weekly Shonen Magazine with the first chapter on August 5th. While it’s exciting news for fans, this Fairy Tail series will be relatively short. It’s a welcome return for Mashima, who hasn’t been regularly illustrating the series for a while.
Even though the original Fairy Tail anime and manga finished several years ago, it’s remained popular because Hiro Mashima has continued to create new content. This includes a sequel manga (which also got an anime adaptation with the original cast and crew), as well as other series like Edens Zero and Dead Rock. The franchise has always been active, but now, with its 20th anniversary, even more projects are on the way.
Fairy Tail Creator Reacts to New Revival Announcement
In a recent announcement celebrating the 20th anniversary of Fairy Tail, creator Hiro Mashima expressed his gratitude to fans for their continued support, which has allowed the series to be celebrated long after its conclusion. He shared that new merchandise and events are planned for the next year, encouraging fans to join in the celebration. Kodansha also hinted at additional surprises to come.
